Plug it in and Right click on "Computer or My Computer", select Manage, then Disk Manager. If it doesn't show in here it's most likely a bad drive. If it shows up in here, initialize it if it isn't and then you should be able to format it to fat or ntfs. If you have a live Linux boot disc you can boot into Linux and see if it shows up. Linux does a better job of seeing screwed up devices.

I just inserted a new 8GB memory card but it tells me ''OUT OF MEMORY'' I tried to format it but still gives me the same message. Why is that and what can I do about it please?

The memory card you are trying to use in the camera is not supported. This camera is an older technology that can not recognize the large 8 GB memory capacity of the card. In fact, the largest approved card your camera will recognize is 1 GB.

The list of approved memory cards was obtained from the Nikon Site directly, and pasted below for your convenience.

Nikon has tested the following cards and approved their use in the Coolpix 5700:

CompactFlash memory cards:
SanDisk SDCFB series 16 MB, 32 MB, 48 MB, 64 MB, 96 MB, and 128 MB
Lexar Media 4× USB series 8 MB, 16 MB, 32 MB, 48 MB, 64 MB, and 80 MB
Lexar Media 8× USB series 8 MB, 16 MB, 32 MB, 48 MB, 64 MB, and 80 MB
Lexar Media 10× USB series 128 MB and 160 MB
Lexar Media 40x USB WA series 256 MB*
Microtech International Digital Flash Film 1GB*
Delkin eFilm 650MB Pro*
Ritz Big Print 8x 256MB* (Edge Code 0E1B)

Microdrive cards:
DSCM-10512 512 MB
DSCM-11000 1 GB

I have intel 845 glly desktop board with 256 mb SDR. When I added 128 mb SDR in the second slot it is not recognising it. How to add 128 mb SDR with 256 mb SDR. When I fix 128 mb ram in first slot and...

1st try to exchange the cards in the slot.
2nd try another card
3rd ur RAM slot may not be ok
4th ur RAMs may not be compatible
5th ur new RAM card may not be ok
use same type of RAMs, and same size...
if u have 256, add 256
if u ahve 128 add 128
if u have SDR then dont add DDR
getting compatibility is little difficult...
some times no combinations can work...
note...technology keeps changing...so a old RAM card that was bought years ago may not be compatible with a new RAM card....
even i got all my old RAM cards(256+128) removed and got 2 - 512mb of the same type fixed...even i had issues with my RAMs for 6 months...

Windows does not recognize the device ?

Hello raigangarkam,

There's a chance that that particular USB slot on your computer may not be working.

You may try to attach another USB device on that port to check if that works or not.

You might also want to try & attach your 2GB Cruzer flash drive on another USB port or another computer & check if it recognizes it.

If it still won't be recognized on the other computer, you might need to replace that 2GB Cruzer USB Flash Drive.

Hope this helps.

My Dell C600 won't recognize the 2 new 256 mb sticks of RAM

i think you need a same brand of 256 for it to work? and when you buy something for your computer make sure that the one you both is the same brand or code with your 128 for example you have 128 ddr2 sdram so you can only upgrade it with 256 ddr sdran or 512mb,1gb,2gb ddr sdram.

Can u see the different of system board 374709-001 vs 374711-001

HP probably isnt lying to you. the video chip they replaced, 374709-001, was 128 Mb chip, your new one is 256 Mb. When HP installed the new one, the most likely failed to update / reinstall the bios. If the bios was not updated, the computer would not recognize the extra 128 Mb of graphics, as graphics chips are not plug and play.
If you provide me the model number of the computer i can link instructions on flashing the bios; However, i would call HP and see what they can do.
