The keyboard on this laptop jumps perpetually to where the mouse

The key board is like super touchy..i'll be typing away and suddenly i'm typing in the middle of where i have already written...i think on observation its jumping to where the mouse is sitting...i am definitely not touching the key pad at the time....sometimes everything i have just written disappears like i touched some button and poof...its driving me crazy, its not like i haven't had a laptop forever its just this laptop that has done it to me. Any ideas??

I have the same problem. Part of a sentence that I am typing on this same laptop moves to part of previous sentences. Dell have agreed to fit a new keyboard, under warrenty, but I do not know if this will cure the problem. Computer great in every other way except figure 3 playing up.

I have the same problem. the text moves about from the sentence that I am typing to a previous part of the paragragh. In addition the number 3 is playing up. Dell have offered to come to my house and fit a new keyboard free of charge under the warranty, but I do not know if this will solve it. Nice machine otherwise.

Keyboard jumps the words I type

this may be either a keyboard error, a short in the mouse pad a loose connection on either or even both. Although I cant walk you through the step by step on the Asus, to take it apart there is away around it.

Turn off the onboard mouse and before you do that install or use a different mouse. here are some others who have had the same problem and what they did.

Trouble when typing on the keyboard on my sony vaio

Keep the palms of your hands away from the "touchpad" -- you're accidentally moving the mouse-pointer as your fingers press on the keys.

Keyboard loads in Bios...

reload the driver once in windows. unload key board drivers. and let it seek the key board and mouse again.

It is a Mod Aspire 5720z. Keyboard jumps all

it is not your keyboard, rather it is your mouse, you always mistakenly press the pad. either try and keep your palm away a little bit or on the mouse setting disable the mouse by locking it with the small button in front in which if you press the blue light infront of the mouse will trun red. good luck

How to make logitech keyboard & mouse work??

Hi there: I was also facing the same problem. But when you see on back of the keyboard the instructions are there. or follow these steps.
1. insert new batteries both in keyboard and mouse. 2. decide what device you want to connect 1st (Lets connect Keyboard first) 3. Pres and Hold the connect button for both key board and receiver for about 5 secs. 4. don't press any key on key board till 10 secs (During this time it trying to connect with receiver) 5. Check the key board connectivity if it works then take it away or put it behind some barrier so that when you are connecting the mouse it don't interrupt. 6. now for the mouse do the same process as you have connected the keyboard.(step 3 & 4) 7. now check both key board and mouse they will work fine. Thanks

Letter writting problems

Do you use a laptop or some sort of keyboard with a mouse pad? My son used to have that problem when he would type as his thumb would accidentally hit the mouse pad and move the cursor. We solved it in a very low tech way by taping a notecard over the mouse pad when he was using the computer. Depending on the manufacurer, there are ways to turn off the mouse pad while continuing to use a mouse.
