Question about Canon PIXMA MP160 All-In-One InkJet Printer
Hi! Sometimes it's not a real jam, but a cover that wasn't shut well, or a contact behind the cover that didn't close. try opening and closing all the lids and covers again, this time close them with a bit more power.
If this doesn't help, maybe there's a piece of paper stuck inside, in front of a sensor. try blowing in the unit, or to identifiy and remove such a piece!

SOURCE: error code e-3
well i found the problem, my daughter managed to get a tag that she cut out of a t-shirt stuck inside the switch that detects a paper jam. unfortuantly i neglected to unplug the printer while i was dismanteling it and shorted something out in the scanner when the ribon wire came loose so now it is severly messed up. thanks for the advice

SOURCE: Error 3, paper jam
use an antistatic vaccum or canned compressed air to clean the interior of the printer.this problem may cause by dust and debris inside the printer.inspect for any broken part in the paper path.if u find any u will have to investigate repairing or replacing the printer.
try using different weight paper .some printers work best with the particular weight of paper and if you use paper too thick or too thin jams can usually occur.thanks

If job prints from the wrong tray or on the wrong paper or specialty media, this is an indication that the operator panel menu settings do not match the media loaded in the tray.
Make sure the Paper Size and Paper Type specified in the printer driver match the paper size and type in the tray.
