Question about Computers & Internet
I used to go to my volume control icon and click on the red mute icon, then go back and unclick it. Now, it goes to troubleshooter instead and I was told that "Windows Audio" and Windows Audio End Point Builder" need to be turned on in order to fix the problem. I do not know how to locate them.
You failed to mention your computer or the OS. This is a general idea. Open Control Panel, Sounds. OR open Device Manager, Sound , Video......device. In the Tray Notification Area, right click on Sound icon. Have you done a OS upgrade?

a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.

You need to first find out what chipset your on-board card uses my friend. Check all the documentation to find out. You will need the exact set. Now search the net for an updated set of drivers that matches your operating system (XP SP1/2 etc). Now go to device manager and delete anything which has sound connections (MIDI Interfaces, MICs etc..). Now click the 'scan for changes' icon in device manager. Use the new drivers you downloaded.

1) Try updating your sound drivers, they probably control the light. It could be a hardware issue, and if the drivers don't work, there may not be any solution for you.
2) You should go into control panel and into your sound settings. There should be a number of devices listed. One of them is your HDMI output. You need to click on it and set it to the default sound output device. When you unplug your HDMI, you may need to do this again to get your regular computer speakers working.
