Question about Heating & Cooling

1 Answer

I have a Valor Fireplace model #936TTN. I took the glass front off to clean it, and now the flames ignite until the glass is replaced. Then the flame is extinguished. Seems like there is no air flow but all the vents etc are clear. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

I know you said the vents are clear, but what you are describing is a lack of oxygen to allow combustion. Either the fresh air is blocked, or the exhaust is blocked (or both). You must re-check the venting to look for blockage. Specifically, take a flashlight and look inside the termination cap for a nest etc. It could also be ice-buildup depending on your situation/weather. If it's ice, you can run the unit with the glass off until the heat melts the blockage.

SOURCE: No Heat-Inducer motor doesn't start ?..humming noise only..warm..

Bad inducer motor most likely. Check the leads and plug. If it just homms, it is stuck. Check to see if the drain hoses are free of moisture. Can you get to the shaft to spin it to see if it is free?

SOURCE: Gas fireplace pilot flame won't stay lit.

Hi , you can try and pull the panel on the bottom of fireplace out and check the adapter in fireplace. Sometimes they go bad. When you open in also check to see if there is an adapter plugged in and a option to use the battery operated function. If this goes bad the pilot will not stay lit.

SOURCE: I have a pyromaster electric fireplace model HEF

Unplug the motor wire connector and jump it with a 9V. battery. If the motor spins it's good. Chances are the FLAME SPEED CONTOL (Part Number 10001589) circuit board is bad. I had to replace mine. It's at the bottom of the fireplace behind the contols panel.

Good Luck

My Valor fireplace won't turn off with the remote

Easy turn the gas cylinder close then its off,Or you could have a faulty control valve or thermo couple .Thermo couple is the small device looks like a probe to detect heat this is normally directly in the small pilot flame. The pilot flame if not burning will not open the control valve for the other burners to come on.If the other burners come on but do not go of when turned off. then need to check control valve.

Gas ignites with lever ignition but when lever is released gas cuts out

I can't tell what kind of appliance you're talking about.... but, here's what I know.. This "lever" you're talking of kind of stumps me, but try, after the gas lights, to hold the lever in the position you had when you lit the flame. Hold it on for about a minute... then release it... and see if the flame will remain going. If you can't keep the flame going "no matter what", you probably need to clean or replace the flame sensor.

Flame does not flicke in my electric fireplace

if flame not flickering and you can see the globes lighting flame its the fan that moves the ribbons is faulty unless it has fuse to it which may have blown, but how the flame works is by globes lighting through ribbons that are moved by a fan to give a flicker effect unless its rotating glass wheel like some, that turn with the globes behind that give you a flickering effect its always better with electrical to have an electrician look if it was the globes yes that is an easy replace but to change a fan or rotating glass wheels

Seems to be a problem with the bas valves....you shouldve seen them in front of ignitor...will show similar signs of ignitor. part#306106 AND 306105. come off easily with a few screws and just slide over valve assembly.
