In your system you should be using synaptics touchpad driver. First of all look for it under mouse properties in control panel. If its not there then install in from support.dell.com. Under this application you would be having option to disable touchpad when external mouse connected. Try this.

Touch pad does not operate. have uninstalled and reinstalled correct driver and PC device manager says device is working properly with no conflicting programs. generally, the pad did not really operate...

Hello,

it is possible that the touch pad is disabled. Check control panel to actually confirm.

Since your touch pad is not operating, you will need an external mouse to perform this task.

Here is what you have to do to check if the touch pad is disabled.

Turn on your laptop, wait till it boots completely.

Click start,

Scroll to Control Panel select Control Panel.

Under control panel, (you will find a Mouse icon), click Mouse and a dialogue box will pop out.

On the dialogue box, click "Device settings".

Under device settings, you will find "Synaptics Touchpad..."

Highlight the "Synaptics Touchpad..." by clicking on it once, then click enable.

By now the mouse pad should be enabled. Apply the changes for it to take affect.

If the above doesn't solve the problem, try performing system. System restore can help to back date your computer to the time when the touch pad was working....

Go to Start > All programs > Accessories > System tools > System restore. Read and follow instructions.....

If the two solutions does not work, please let me so that I can further help you.

Yours sincerely.

Have you checked the settings of your synaptics? Usually there's an Icon on the taskbar for synaptics you can right click it and check if "disable touchpad if usb pointing device is present" is checked, if so uncheck it then your touch pad should work again.
Here's a link for a step by step instruction though this is for windows xp but steps are the same. Hope this works for you:

Hello,

The touchpad issue is linked with the converter which is loacted just below to your touch pad. When you use the laptop for some time it heats up and touch pad hangs( you might be feeling the heat) and the solution is to get it changed.
The voice breaking is all because of your internet connection.

Thanks

My hp g60 cursor doesent move at all.

If the cursor doesn't move when using the touchpad, make sure the touchpad is turned on. There is a button right above the touchpad with five lit-up dots above it. If the dots are white, the touchpad is enabled -- if they are orange, the touchpad is turned off.

Hope that solves your problem!
