Some TV's have a zoom function others do not. The program you're watching controls whether the top and bottom of the screen have black bars and is not the fault of the TV. Widening the picture cuts off a lot of the viewable picture and distorts the image. Circles tend to be oval. If your TV has a zoom function, use it.
I am unsure what you need o do. is it changing the resolution to make it fit? If not, then you can widen the screen by the monitor settings on the menu
Widen border on what? A document, if so go into page setup. If you're talking about the whole screen, go into the Desktop under the Control Panel and change the screen resolution.
Right click on your desktop and click screen resolution. Increase your resolution. If you are not able to then you need to download your display driver. Search for device manager and go down to your display. If it has a broken or missing driver then go to hps website download and install the driver.
There are two causes of an unfilled screen her;
1) Either, you don't have drivers installed that the resolution is set to low pixels or pixels that don't match your screen type (Computer does it automatically if the drivers are installed) OR 2) You need to set or widen the length and height of your desktop screen using the buttons on it - usually on the front. Let me know how it went so i give you plan B...
TRY USING MOUSE CURSOR TO WIDEN SCREN BY EXPANDING WIDTH AND HEIGHT. ONCE DONE RIGHT CLICK ON WINDOW AND CLICK "REFRESH" CLOSE WINDOW...THEN REOPEN ND SEE IF IT OPENS TO PROPER SIDE.
GODD LUCK
Does your Windows "desktop" and "wallpaper" completely fill to the borders? If not, then you either need to reconfigure your video-adapter, or use the video-adapter controls to "widen" and "stretch" the image, to fill the viewable area of your screen.
