Re: lamp light

That light is there to tell you that the lamp is close to the end of its useful life. It simple monitors the amount of current that the lamp is drawing, so if the lamp stops drawing a preset amount of current, the lamp light will come on, indicating to you to order a new lamp so you have one when this lamp finaly burns out. Good Luck

Lense hours

Hello muhammad
Projector's lamp life is said to be, not with the lens life. Lens is made up of glass. But lamp will go weak. the life of lame will depend on how much time the projectior have used. Normal life of Panasonic projector bulb spans between [1800 to 2000] continous use. It means, if we take the low life span of the bulb as 1800 Hours [1800/24=75 Continous days]. If we use it for 4 hours a day, the bulb may last for [1800/4=450 days ie 1 Year and 85 days] OK.

The "lamp" light keeps blinking red. Does this

The lamp life becomes 0%, when used
for approximately 4,000 hours with "Eco
Mode" or when used for approximately
2,000 hours with "Standard Mode" (see
page 43).
When the remaining lamp life becomes
5% or less, " " (yellow) will be displayed
on the screen. When the percentage becomes
0%, " " will change to " " (red),
the lamp will automatically turn off and
then the projector will automatically enter
the standby mode. At this time, the
lamp indicator will illuminate in red.
If you try to turn on the projector a fourth
time without replacing the lamp, the projector
will not turn on.
If you require the manual to help with changing the bulb, send me an email to Put SHARP PG-B10S in the subject line. I will send it to you right away. Lawrence Brown

The red lights on the control pannel indicate that there is a problem with ventilation (the fan or whatever is called). Can I fix it? The PJD5112 lamp turns on just for seconds and then of and red signal...

The projector switches off itself due to following problems. Make sure that lamp is not used for more than its life expectancy as mentioned by the manufacturer. The projector gets over heated due to two problems. 1) The dust filters are clogged. Clean the filters. 2) The lamp life is almost over or used lamp is in use. Normally each lamp is used about 2000 to 3000 hours depending upon the manufacturer. In such case replace with new lamp. There are many fans to control the temperature inside. Some are blower fans. Some are exhaust fans. You will have to open the projector & check which one of them is not functioning. Replace the one which is not functioning. It is also likely that there may be some failure of components.

It turns on but there is no light. Has the lamp burned? The lamp has not been used for over 2,000 hours...

If it has done over 1000 hours it has done well.
If the projector is ceiling mounted, the air is very hot up there and the lamp life will be greatly reduced. Is the lamp life indicator flashing?
Hope that helps.

Lamp has stopped working.

Hi there,

thank you for using FixYa.

How many hours has the lamp done?

They are generally only good for 2000 hours, when hot do not touch, move the unit ect as this can damage the lamp. Never touch the glass part of the lamp (it is not like a light bulb).

What is the life of projector bulb. the image are not clear.

The normal lifetime for almost all lamps for projectors are 2500-3000 hours in EKO-mode and about 1500-2000 hours in normal-mode

You will notice that the lamp is goint out of time by the light of it, the image will be darker and darker untill the lamp dies/explodes.

If your image isen clear you have to clean your projector, and by that i mean a realy good clean inside it. If you arent sure how to do it i sugest you leave it to a repairshop to do the work, its not expensive and they will do it properly.

Btw, if you ned to buy a new lamp, let me know, i know where you can order a new lamp to realy good price.

Good luck

Panasonic PT-L557U Bulb Life

lamp hours can only be displayed by connecting two test points in side the projector. in normal operation, a message will be displayed on the screen when the lamp hours = 1090. when the lamp reaches 1100 hours, the projector will shut itself off. when you do replace the lamp, be sure to reset the lamp time in the setup menu (this is covered in your manual).
