SOURCE: Canon 10d digital camera Err 02

Most likey your problem is the cf card reader when ever the camera was made they could have not heated up the board all the way causing a cold solderjoint after time this joint becomes week and gets disconnected on the back side no visual damage is seen causing you the error you are getting. best thing to do is take it to a repair shop and have them fix it or the manufacture should repair it for free because there is no fisical damage.

Actually, it's quite simple, but does take some patience. Please see the following:

SOURCE: My Canon 5D card slot has a bent pin as someone

If you have a light touch and long slender object like a paperclip or micro-tool you can attempt to straighten it if the bend is not too severe. If it is, you may just break it off. If you don't feel comfortable doing this by all means take it to a service tech. Easy does it.

SOURCE: Bent pin on the coonector where the CF card plugs

Hello

Thank you for using FixYa for your problem

It should be taken to an authorized repair centre for a repair estimate. Very few digital cameras have any user-serviceable parts.

Please rate our solutions and if you still have problems please call back for more ideas to help you

SOURCE: My canon a75 may have a bent prong in the cf card

Possibly, see this link. And as the article mentions, the key is patience. Can't say enough about taking your time when slowly unbending the pin. Do it with a tiny little nudge at a time.

How to fix cf reader pins

If they are only slightly bent you may be able to straighten them with a small flat screwdriver blade. If they are bent all the way down they will have to be replace - not a job for an amateur! If the two center pins are bent over and touching other pins, then there may be circuit damage - they are the power pins and touching other pins that are output pins blows part of the CF control circuit. This would require replacement of the rear circuit board, which requires programming with Canon software (which they do no supply to anyone)

My canon camara keeps saying memory error

Just to be sure, you did try other cards right?
If so, Bent pins are quite common unfortunately. Can't wait until they come up with something easier for this. Fixing it yourself is possible, yet you absolutely need the right tools and to know what you are doing. There is quite a bit to dismantle before you get to that area. Camera repair can be done and this company is very good at it. They even have a blog on bent pins and it shows a picture of what this looks like. Is there something wrong with the camera when it states cf err

you could have a bad CF card or it may need formatted .. or you could have a bent pin in the CF connector in your camera .. that happens a lot if the CF card is put in wrong or if its poorly designed (not much lead in taper to capture pins) ... look in the card slot where you plug in your CF card .. look to see if any pins are missing or bent ..

Canon Rebel xt does not accept CF cards for no apparent reason

It sounds like a bent pin in the CF slot. This is not a do it yourself fix. Take it to a repair shop.

I had the same problem; I could insert the card but it wouldn't read. I Got a CF error message. I was going to get it fixed then I realised that the bent pin was touching the adjacent pin. So I intentionally broke-off the damaged pin... an now it works perfectly! Many of the pins on CF cards don't appear to function.

Obviously, only do this if the pins are touching and you can't bent the pin back straight. You could make thing worse by rummaging aroung the CF slot, but as I was going to send it away anyway, at some considerable cost, I had nothing to lose.

This happens when image data cannot be written/extracted on CF card. Try a card that you know is ok ( works on other cameras ). If problem persists one or more pins in the CF card chamber may be bent or even broken off. Try to straighten but be careful not to damage undamaged pins... but may have to go to an expert for repairs.

The error 02 can come up when there is CF card problem : card not seated properly , card takes too long to come on line from the cameras point of view or if one of the the pins inside CF card chamber is faulty.

Canon A85 power on problem

I think we can rule out a problem with the cards, which leaves the camera. maybe one of the cf pins is bent?? look into the slot with a light and check for any pins out of line, if you find any, see if you gently push it back into place. I saw the exact same problem, having the same fix. try also connecting AC through a cable and the camera to the computer, see if it makes any change. Whats your warranty status? use it if you still got it, if not, get a repair estimate. Hope it works out
