Ok i have the solution to the dispensing problems on the maytag skybox vending machine ... u need to open the main door and unplug the main harness , next remove the door from the hinges and place upside down somewere were it is good to work on ,next remove the 2 screws that cover the flapper sensor , next remove the seal around the door, behing the seal you will see a series of screws, remove all of them a regular phillips screwdriver is fine, next remove the back cover from the door, there you will need to unplug the flapper sensor from the main board just follow the cable and youll find the plug, once you have unplugged the plug continue by removing the complete sensor and wire, next you will see 3 wires one of the wires has xxxxxxx all over the wire this wire you will NOT touch as it can short out your unit now the other 2 wires you need to separate and cut once you have cut the 2 wires strip the ends and unite both ends together tape up and tuck away once you have done this put the door back together and mount on the unit and continue vending hope this helps .....

SOURCE: Skybox won't dispense anything

check the door where the cans come out. there is a sensor or the left side. if it is too far away from the door or if it's broken, it will do exactly what you said. i read somewhere that you can adjust the sensor closer to the door. i just bought one of the last one of these on the shelves 2 days ago and mine won't cool at all. stupid maytag..

TroJo, Try PartSelect.com for Skybox parts. I ordered a part on Monday night and installed it on Wednesday night. The parts are not that hard to find. Appliance repair services can replace your compressor or add freon. Be sure you have plenty of ventilation behind your machine. Jonmon

SOURCE: skybox beverage dispenser. will dispense one can

I had the same problem as well. The dispenser thinks that the flap is jammed or that the beverage is stuck in the machine. There is a small magnetic sensor on the door near the flap and there should be a small metal piece on the flap itself. I fixed mine by (gently) bending the sensor closer to the flap. The sensor should not touch the metal piece, but if there is too much space the sensor always reads "open".

If that doesn't work, you can tinker around a bit to make sure that all of the connections are firm and there is not a bunch of frost caked on the circuit board. My skybox needs to be defrosted periodically, since all of the motors and the circuit board get frozen in a block of ice.

You can get to the circuit board by removing the racks as a single unit. Don't try to take the racks apart until you take them out of the fridge.

Skybox beverage dispenser. will dispense one can

I had the same problem. Found the cover where the beverages dispense to be rusted and not resetting. After the can dispenses, just push the cover back into position and this should help.

Skybox is freezing and making a humming noice.

The temperature in the SkyBox is controlled by the thermostat located within the beverage compartment. If set too high, product can feeze. In addition ice will build up behind the dispenser assembly. The ice buildup can eventually make contact with the circulating fan blade and cause a constant noise.
You should hear the compressor stop running as you turn down the cold control, but prior to reaching the "off" position. Select a lower setting for the cold control, and unplug the unit for 24 hours with door open to thaw out the ice build up. Reconnect power to resume normal operation.

Hi my skybox stop cooling

The SkyBox operates with two individual systems. The dispenser assembly, the LED indicators and the circulating fan operate on a low voltage circuit. The circulating fan runs anytime the SkyBox is plugged in.

The cooling system operates on 120vac. The cold control inside the beverage compartment is an on demand switch that sends 120vac to the compressor when cooling is needed. There are no parts available for the compressor, so if it determined that power is reaching the compressor, the windings are ok, a 3 in1 hard start kit (Supco URCO210) can be installed by a qualified service technician.

CAN A SKYBOX 'MAYTAG' BE PERMENENTLY INSTALLED OUTSIDE

The Maytag SkyBox is not a commercial vending machine. It is designed for INDOOR use only. The possibility of electric shock is likely from a unit that has gotten wet. In addition, the electronics are not designed to withstand the outdoor elements.

Skybox will nat cool below 40 degrees

The likely cause is a heavy frost and ice buildup on the internal evaporator plate behind the dispensing unit. Unplug the unit and open the door for 24 hours. Plug the unit back in, reset the thermostat to the 11:00 position.

Looks like I found the answer to the problem of Skybox not dispensing. I replaced the sensor in the dispensing door and my Skybox now works great!
Part is available from partselect.com just look up your Skybox model number, mine was Skybox model MBV1976AAB. The diagram on the website should show you the exploded view of the door section of your Skybox. You are looking for partselect.com part number 901892 or on the exploded view it will be number 21. The Maytag part number is 11001182, board flipper sensor. My Skybox had been down for two years and now works again!
