When you put the lid on the recovery tank, you have to be sure that the front of the lid is properly engaged into the two tabs on the top of the tank. With the lid installed, if you can lift the front of the lid off the tank with two fingers, then the lid is not on correctly. Also, make sure the square duct that goes into the front of the tank is in place. You have to remove this duct to install the hose for doing furniture but must replace it to go back to the floor function. By the way, the "blowing air" you refer to is normal. This is exhaust air from the motor and it is used to propel the solution onto the carpet.

Hoover Steam Vac Spin Scrub Carpet Cleaner won't...
Posted by hoofbeats1 on Jul 01, 2008
My machine is a little more than a year old. I have used it about 5 times. It started leaking the third time I used it. The fourth time I took it out, the brushes would not spin (I did clean them and rinse them after use each time).
Now the engine screams and won't **** anything up. Do you have any suggestions? My last Hoover Steam Vac was great and lasted for 3 years! Hi,
I have a Hoover Dual V SteamVac F7425-900 that the brushes won't spin. The lint screen is clean & the brushes switch is in the on position.
It dispenses & sucks up the cleaning solution & water; just no brush action. Help

Hello,
I would advise you to ALWAYS to FIRST UNPLUG YOUR VACUUM before beginning any service procedure. The only thing that I can recommend is that you may have a bad switch, some vacs may have a broken belt or the drive mechanism inside the Hoover Dual V SteamVac F7425-900 in or by the brush assm section and is need of repair. Please check the trouble shooting section of the owner’s manual if you’re needing help and to save money. If you don’t have one then contact the Hoover factory cust serv. So, please feel free to contact your local vacuum cleaner dealer in your area or in the yellow pages, or contact the factory phone number or website to further assist you with your questions.

SOURCE: steam vac won't **** water

check to see if the recovery tank lid is on correctly. if this is not on, the machine will not **** up the dirty water from the carpet. all you will get is suction that is chopy when it comes up instead of more like a flow.

SOURCE: it seems to blow air out instead of sucking up

Remove the bag on top and the plate on the bottom. Clean out the air passages, top and bottom, looking for a clog. When it seems clear, turn on the vacuum to see if air is moving through. Don't allow a full bag to remain in place Check the brush on the bottom for string, hair, or thread caught in the bristles or bearings on either end. Hope this helps!

Why does my hoover steam vac only blow out

Hey there! The cleaner blowing out air instead of sucking is an indication that the unit is not sealed off properly. Follow these brief steps to restore suction to your cleaner.

1. Remove the clean water tank.

2. Recline the handle and let the cleaner lay flat.

3. Remove the dirty water tank lid.

4. Reposition the front panel located on the outside of the tank in the center. It should be flush to the tank, even straight across and pushed down as far as it will go.

5. Assemble the dirty water tank lid back on from the front to the back. The lid should not lift up from the front.

Give it a try! The cleaner should now have suction. Hope this helps!

It won't pick up the water and blows instead of sucks

Looks like a Dual V, I would check on the bottom to see if there are any blockages. and also above the dirty tank. Just try to clean out the filters and see if it helps, Good Luck!

Dysin vacuum blows air instead of sucking it!

If it is blowing air, then it is still clogged up somewhere, you didn't give your model number, but some of these have removable covers on each side and on the back. Also make sure that all covers are back on securely.

Dysin vacuum blows air instead of sucking it!

Dysons aren't supposed to clog up, but they do. There a number of ports you can open to see if there are clogs in any of them. Usually a clog is why it will blow air and debris out instead of sucking. You just need to find it.
