Question about Televison & Video

Open Question

I picked up a Mitsubishi Model No. WD- 62527. The guy said all it needed was the lamp replaced, I replaced it and the tv still doesn't turn on. Their is a green light that blinks were it says timer for about a minute then the orange light under lamp turns on. About a second later the green light under timer blinks three times then turns off and then the only light on is the lamp orange light. It will continue to do this hole scenario over and over again...HELP!

SOURCE: WD-62525, continous amber lamp light. No picture. Lamp is good.

Hello:

Make sure u replace the lamp cover as the safety switch need to be closed to make the set work. If new lamp did not repair your problem , then it may well be the Ballast Board, Sometimes call the Lamp Driver.

SOURCE: I have Mitsubishi WD-Y57 DLP.

I have the same TV. Mine is almost 3 years old. From what I've learned you should try to reset the TV. There is a small button in the front input compartment. Use a pen to push that in and wait for the green light to stop blinking. Then try the TV.
If that does not work you probably need a new lamp. Apparently the lamps only last for a couple years on average. Having to replace them can really add to the cost of buying/owning one of these TV's

My tv a mitsubishi d 62527 the green light kees blinking

Called the blinking green light of death---set should if power lost when put back blink for 70 seconds or so---digital unit booting up.

About the only simple cause is in the main power supply are four 1000 uf caps that puff up and fail--provide boot up voltage.

follower power cord to supply and look for bad caps (they will be easy to spot) and see attached photos of what to look for.

Here's an online version of your televison's (94 page) "Owner's Guide":
http://www.mitsubishi-tv.com/pdf/ownersguides/WD-60735.pdf

It sounds like the lamp in your "Mitsubishi Lamp-Cartridge" blew.

If your TV remains under warranty, you'll want to call Mitsubishi at 1-800-553-7278, and you'll need to have (a) Mitsubishi Model number, (b) serial number, (c) TV purchase date, and you'll have to ship the old lamp module back to Mitsubishi so that:
"All lamps replaced under warranty must be returned to Mitsubishi where they will be inspected for defect verification."

Return old Lamp-Cartridge to:

Mitsubishi Digital Electronics America
1001 Cherry Drive, Suite 2
Braselton, Georgia 30517

If you have trouble finding your TV's information, you need better "Warranty Management". Warranty Management can be done with software, or on paper. You may even choose to toss all your Owner's Manuals into a box, with the receipts. In case anything malfunctions/needs to be reprogrammed/reset then the manual & spare parts/cables (in a large Zip-Loc(R) baggie or two) can be quickly located and consulted.

If you television happens to be out of warranty, a nice (expensive) new lamp module can be ordered from Mitsubishi by calling 1-800-553-7278, or by ordering online at http://www.mitsuparts.com.

Refer to pages 75-76 of your Owner's Guide for complete Lamp-Cartridge module replacement instructions (with nice illustrations).

Your TV's Lamp-Cartridge part number is: Mitsubishi 915B403001

Here's an online source for the Mitsubishi 915B403001 Lamp-Cartridge:
http://www.dlplamps.com/products/mitsubishi-dlp-lamp/mitsubishi-915b403001.html?gclid=CLzb6ciaiq0CFQdN4AodZkMonA

Note that with the dlplamps.com offerings, you can purchase the lamp only for $109, or the entire lamp-cartridge module for $129. So you can save yourself $20 if you're handy. Remember to keep all fingerprints off the lamp glass element - this small amount of oil will weaken the glass, and cause premature failure of the lamp. In the event that you get a fingerprint on the lamp glass, erase it thoroughly with rubbing alcohol. Alternatively, one may prevent fingerprints with latex gloves (make sure you haven't an allergy to latex, though).

If the reason that the lamp blew turns out to have been a clogged Lamp-Cartridge Filter (once you have the Lamp-Cartridge out of the TV and in your hand, you'll be able to easily see the mesh filter), then place a regular PM (Preventative Maintenance) of this filter on your calendar.

I have a mitsubishi 62 in wd 62527 and the red lamp light came on and we unplugged the tv and reset the red button now no power

The red light usually means the projection lamp is bad. If you replaced it and the set still doesn't come on, then it is likely the ballast that drives the lamp is also bad. Also, if/when you do replace the lamp, make sure the access door to the lamp is fastened in properly. Other possibilities include a cooling fan failure and clogged air vents/filters. If none of these are the answer, then I would suspect problems in the power supply, usually stemming from defective capacitors which will require a technician with soldering skills to check out. Hope this helps.

This is generally a Power Supply problem, usually the SMPS so it's replacement or repair.
