Question about Philips Magnavox 51MP392H Rear Projection Television

I own a 52" Philips DLP television and have sound but no picture

I bought a 52' Philips DLP over the summer and the guy that I bought it from said that all it needed was a new bulb. I purchased the bulb and installed it. When I turned the set on, the picture and sound both came on but after about a minute, I completely lost the picture. I don't have the manual so I don't know if this is something that I can fix or not. Can someone help me?

I would check to see if the lamp door is properly seated.These units will not operate without the lamp door in place or improperly seated.

PHILIPS 50 Inch HD DLP Projection TV the picture went out suddenly and there is not sound but a loud humming-buzzing coming from the set...any ideas on what could be wrong or if it can be fixed?


It's the optical block (color wheel) and the same thing happenned to our Philips 50" DLP. From what I've read, it's not worth the trouble & $$ to fix. Dig a hole!

Dull Video...

Your set may have one or more of the following symptoms....

*Dull looking picture
*White looking picture
*Halos around objects
*Red/Orange looking picture

Convergence

* Screen Looks 3D, Warped, Distorted, etc
* Colors do not line up
* TV may shut off - and make a chirping sound.

Check the HIgh Voltage Splitter,sounds like it is bad.

No picture


Pull the front cover off at the bottom. You will see a panel which has to be removed using a screw driver. Inside you will see the lamp assembly. It is a removable box. The lamp can be changed out by just changing out the connections on the new lamp. Before you pull it though try reducing your picture size to 4:3 it helped us to get a little more life out of our lamp.

The small signal board is the problem with the set replace that and the set will be fine. the small signal board is the video processor..

Screen's color in black and white


your color went out because the color wheelor generators not working. These are sofisticated sets and if I were you I would call a pro as you dont want a local guy who knows little about DLP sets to cause the problem to 10 fold. Contact 800-211-PANA see if they can help
