Question about Electrolux EWMED65IMB

Dryer gasket ripped

I tried just taking out the screws around the door, but apparently there's more to this than I thought. Do I need to take the front panel off, and does that mean taking the top off, then the control panel, etc?

Actually, that's not true. Looking at the schematic that's available at the convenient parts link you posted, you can clearly see that there are 2 top and 2 bottom screws for the front panel. And those 2 top front panel screws are only accessible by removing the top cover, with the 2 screws at the back. I figured this out a couple of days ago and was able to replace the gasket. I do appreciate your response.

Remove the screws on the bottom of the front panel is all you need to do to get to it. Here are all the parts for your dryer if you should need to order any of them.

How to repair a lg dryer dlex3470v

See the groove on the edge where the gasket fits onto the door? As you peel away the gasket, you'll see how you need to thread the gasket onto the door flange so that the gasket will fit properly.

Use a silicone-based spray on lube to help it slide back on. Start at the top & work your way around the edge pressing the gasket groove onto the metal as you go. You might not even need a new gasket unless it is damaged.

Rubber gasket around window on door of dryer is coming off

It sounds like it is worth a try to re-attach the existing gasket. I would try some silicone based adhesive. It sticks to most anything, remains flexible and can take high heat. Maybe something like this:

How do I replace the oven door gasket on my VGIC3686

Replacing a Door Gasket

If the oven won't heat to the desired temperature or heats unevenly, the problem could be a defective door gasket. The best way to test for this is to pass your hand around the door, being careful not to touch it, while the oven is turned on. If you can feel heat escaping, the gasket needs replacement. Replace it with a new gasket made for the range.

On most ovens, the gasket is located on the frame of the oven, and the door closes against it. This gasket is generally friction-fit in a channel and can be replaced. In other units, the oven door has two sections, and the gasket is not mounted on the door frame, but is installed between the front and back sections of the door. Don't try to replace this type of gasket; call a professional service person. Here's how to replace a frame-mounted gasket:

Step 1: Pull the old gasket out of the channel. On some oven door frames the gasket is held in place with screws. To get at the screws, bend back the exposed edge of the gasket.

Step 2: Clean the channel and the door frame with a solution of mild household detergent and water.

Step 3: To install the new gasket, start the replacement at the top of the door frame and work down the sides, easing the gasket around corners. Finish the installation along the bottom, butting the ends of the gasket firmly together.

Being ripped off is when money changes hands & NO
Service whatsoever is performed.

That is called Fraud & is a crime

Your never ripped off, ever

You just don't like or understand the
service agreement between you &
the merchant

O2 sensors cost around $40.00 & could go
above a hundred on eruo vehicles

Look on ROCK AUTO.Com for a price & different brands

You surely can screw in any O2 Sensor yourself
It won't take more than 10 minutes

You being in the UK vs: the US who knows what they cost

Door does not close properly - need door gasket

if the door gasket is not ripped you may try taking a hair dryer to the ares that dont seem to be touching the frame of the cooler. Hold the hair dryer about 6 inches away from the gasket and move it back and forth slowly taking care not to melt the gasket or any of the sourrounding plastic.

The freezer gasket is no longer sealing properly allowing frost to buildup around the edges which eventually falls into the refrig area, thaws and leaves a puddle. Can we replace the gasket?

Yes, the gasket is replaceable, for modest cost and difficulty=easy.
Where to get new gasket: take exact Mfr. & model number (and serial number) of fridge
to your nearest
major appliance parts store (see yellow pages). Call them, to see if they have your replacement
gasket in stock, or may need to order it.
How to replace gasket: pull back inner edge of gasket until your see the 1/4-in hex head machine
screws attaching it to the freezer door. Using nutdriver, unscrew old gasket's screws, and
install new gasket by reversing the procedure, starting with the top middle screw, and proceeding
around the edges.
Its a "nutdriver project." If for some reason the screws are too rusted to re-use, an equivalent screw
(just match the diameter and length) is easily
(and inexpensively) obtained at your nearest hardware store - you won't even need to return to the
appliance parts store.
This procedure works for most standard freezer-over-fridge units - you can include your exact
Mfr. and model number in your next query for more precise info.

Dishwasher keeps leaking from door

Hi, if it is leaking around/under the door, it must be the seal around the door. Check to see if the seal needs to be pushed in somewhere or is damaged..
Try running the cycle with no dishes in the washer and see if it leaks, it sounds like a gasket in the door to me and you can also check hose by removing the front panel on floor and check there....

Inspect the door gasket. As it ages, the gasket can crack or become hard, preventing it from sealing completely.
If the gasket appears solid, adjust the door latch so the door seals tightly. Loosen the screw that holds the door latch to the cabinet. Push the latch in slightly and retighten the screw. Test the door and readjust the latch if necessary.
Replace the gasket if water continues to leak after you've tightened the latch. Most gaskets are held by compression in a groove on the door or on the dishwasher cabinet.

you will have to gently pry it all around with a thin scraper, i am assuming there is no sealer as fluid would not have leaked in if there gentle but forceful.
