That's called a "POST" (Power On Self Test) code. I can't find a list of those codes, so I'm guessing based on the symptoms here that you have a dead CPU. Did you have a power surge or something just before it started doing this? One thing you try is taking the cover off, unplugging it from the wall outlet, push the power button to drain the capacitors, then remove and re-seat the memory, then put the cover back on and plug it back up and try that. There's a small chance that something has happened to make the memory come loose or something, but that's not likely considering the problem you are describing. Most likely is that your CPU is dead, which means it's time to get a new computer. A good computer shop can transfer your files from your dead computer to your new computer using a USB hard drive adapter.

SOURCE: computer beeping on startup

One long, two short is the POST beep code that indicates something is wrong with your display adapter (e.g. your video card).

Make sure your video card is plugged into your computer firmly. If it is an onboard card, you may need to get an external video card and plug that in to test if that is your problem.

SOURCE: computer wont boot hear one beep from motherboard over and over

If your power supply is bad, there is typically a much cheaper way to fix it rather than purchasing a new one.

If you know a little about electronics or know someone who does have them open up the power supply and check the capacitors. Often times when a power supply goes bad its the result of capacitors going bad.

If you notice on the ends of any capacitors a brownish/whitish discharge or "bulging" then the capacitor has gone bad.

A new one typically cost less than a dollar and replacing it is fairly easy if you know how to solder.

Let me know if you have anymore questions and hopefully if this is the case you can save some money.

SOURCE: My Acer turns on but the screen and keyboard

If there is no beep code when starting the PC than there is an issue with your motherboard. You will most likely have to replace your motherboard.

SOURCE: I have an acer aspire M5100 and when you turn on

it sounds like the ram is not being detected.
what you can do is power the unit down and remove your ram module,
**static is a big issue so make sure you are not on carpets or in static clothing and always remember to be touching the compurer case when ever you venture inside to discharge any stray static **** in you**
the best way to clean the memory module is with a pen eraser, what you clean is the little copper pins at the base of the module

Aspire 9412awsmi wont start

2 Short Beeps Your computer has memory problems. First check video. If video is working, you'll see an error message. If not, you have a parity error in your first 64K of memory. First check your SIMM's. Reseat them and reboot. If this doesn't do it, the memory chips may be bad. You can try switching the first and second banks memory chips. First banks are the memory banks that your CPU finds its first 64K of base memory in. You'll need to consult your manual to see which bank is first. If all your memory tests good, you probably need to buy another motherboard. 3 Short Beeps Basically the same thing as 2 beeps. Follow that diagnosis above. 4 Short Beeps Basically the same thing as 2 beeps. Follow that diagnosis above. It could also be a bad timer

Your computer might emit a series of beeps during start-up if the monitor cannot display errors or problems. This series of beeps, called a beep code, identifies a problem. One possible beep code (code 1-3) consists of one beep, a burst of three beeps. This beep code tells you that the computer encountered a memory problem
you need to reseat your memmry modules just remove them and place them back in the same or a diffrant slot this cold be loose connection by connecting them again you fix it

My dv6000 dont start . i have black screen with one long beeb and two short beebs

HI friend,

one long beeb and two short beebs Indicates a video error has occurred and the BIOS cannot initialize the video screen to display any additional information, some couse of that issue is New hardware conflicting with old hardware or New hardware conflicting with old hardware or Connections not connected or connected properly or other hardware issue.Best solution is
If any new hardware has been recently added to the computer, remove that hardware to make sure it is not the cause of your issue. If after removing the new hardware your computer works it's likely the computer is either not compatible with the new hardware or a system setting needs to be changed to work with the new hardware device.Remove any disks, CD's, DVD's that are in the computer and if any USB devices (ipods, drives, phones, etc)
before all that please
Make sure all fans are running in the computer. If a fan has failed (especially the fan for the CPU) your computer could be overheating and/or detecting the fan failure causing the computer not to boot.
If you continue to to receive the same problem with all the above hardware removed attempt to disconnect the RAM from the Motherboard and turn on the computer. If the computer has a different beep code or if your computer was not beeping and is now beeping turn off your computer and try the below suggestions. Making sure to turn off the computer each time you're adding and removing the memory and then turning the computer back on to see if the suggestion resolves the issue.
  1. Re-insert the memory into the same slot.
  2. If you have more than one stick of memory remove all but one stick of memory, try rotating through each stick.
  3. Try one stick of memory in each slot.
Thanks,
