Are you getting DHCP from ISP? If not ask them if you can static the address in your router. then do ping tests.

I cant get internet from my rouder

Wired or wireless? Shut down the computer. Unplug the NetGear. Unplug the ISP modem, remove battery, if applicable, Check ALL cables and connections, reseat ALL connections. plug in the ISP modem, wait for selftest. Plug in the NetGear, wait for selftest. Reboot the computer. Try connecting with a Ethernet cable if you are trying to connect wirelessly to verify. If that fails, contact your ISP to verify signal comming in. Have a ISP tech come out to analyze the signal.

My laptop and my iphone indicate that my wireless-g broadband router is putting out a wireless signal; but neither accessory works on the network, even though the bars are entirely full on the devices.

The bars on your laptop or iPhone means that you are connected to the router! Not necessarily to internet. Your internet depends on ISP Internet service provider and modem which connected to your router. To check if you have active internet connection connect your laptop directly to modem provided by your ISP with ethernet cable and try to open a internet browser IE or Safari or Chrome or Firefox and open a webpage! If you are able to connect internet by this mean you have internet connection active. Now disconnect your lap top from modem and connect modem to your Linksys router using WAN port of LINKSYS! Its good to power off and power on (power cycle) once on modem and router to make it work!
good luck!

I have a belkin enhanced wireless router model # F6D4230-4v1. It was working fine and we lost internet connection for no reason. I have no idea how to fix the connection. There are 6 lights that should...

Troubleshooting Internet disconnects

Are all computers connected to the router affected?
If so, try this first:

  1. Unplug the power to the cable / DSL modem
  2. Connect the power to the router.
  3. Connect a computer to one of the LAN ports of the router.
  4. Restart your computer.
  5. Restore the router to factory defaults. Note: This will remove all previously configured settings.
  6. Once the router has gone through the restore it will then begin the reboot. When the reboot completes plug the power back into your modem.

This addresses a common scenario where the router has been connected to the Internet for an extended period and holds an IP address (DHCP lease) for a longer period of time than your Internet Service Provider (ISP) allows.

This is normal and does not indicate any issue with your Belkin router or ISP.

If the router is located where you cannot easily unplug it, you can restart it using the router's web-based interface. If your DHCP lease time seems to be extremely short, contact your ISP to see if there are other issues on the network.

In certain network scenarios, it may be helpful to turn off all the equipment on your network, and then turn it all back on. Leaving some devices unplugged for up to five minutes can also help. Try unplugging the router, any switches, and any cable or DSL modems. Shut down connected computers. Plug in the cable or DSL modem first.

Plug in the Belkin router second, and wait for the lights to cycle through the startup routine. This prevents another device from taking the DHCP lease. Lastly, start up your computer.

Are just wireless clients affected?
If so, focus on factors that affect wireless clients, such as:

  • Network selection and security
  • Hardware access control
  • Client TCP/IP settings
  • Signal strength
  • Sources of interference

Are just wired clients affected?

If so, check your network adapter settings. Check all cable routing, connections, and power supplies.

Can you connect to the Internet directly?
Set up a computer to connect to the Internet directly, without the router.
If you cannot connect to the Internet without the router, please contact your Internet Service Provider for assistance.

Check your signal strength

You may lose your wireless connection if you go beyond the range of the router, or if there is an obstacle between your computer and the router that blocks wireless signals. You can check signal strength by opening your wireless adapter's interface.

Is your modem configured correctly?

For Windows XP and 2000:

1. Connect your computer to your modem with an Ethernet cable.

2. Click Start, and go to Run.

3. In the Run box, type CMD and click OK.

4. In the DOS window that opens up, type ipconfig and then press Enter on your keyboard.

ipconfig.jpg

For Windows Vista/7:

1. Connect your computer to the modem with an Ethernet cable.

2. Click the Start button and in the Start Search box, type cmd. You can either press Enter on your keyboard or click on cmd.exe when it appears in your search list.

3. In the DOS window that opens up, type ipconfig and then press Enter on your keyboard.

4. The IP address (or IPv4) will be a series of numbers following the pattern xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx (for example, 192.168.2.2).

After following either of the steps above, your IP address is 192.168.xxx.xxx, then your modem is also a router and will need to be bridged by your ISP. If your IP address begins with a 169.254, your computer did not receive an IP address from your ISP.

Need nat type 2-PS3 Cable ISP digital phone modem wireless route

you can put your ps3 in a dmz zone. if still does not work its not your router. u can keep your ps3 in dmz and get your router to open ports. u can call your router company. If still does not work its not your router more than likely. It might be your modem. i have at&t and that was my issue. i went to dmz on modem and allowed it to pass through dmz zone and ip addresses to pass through. but make sure on your comp u have spyware or something. Your ps3 can not get virus.

Laptop driver needed

Hello,

You dont need a driver for the wireless router. If your laptop can recieve wireless signal(from a wireless router) all you need is an active internet connection, configure the laptop and router to distribute the internet, you're good to go.

If your laptop cant recieve a wireless signal from a wireless router then you might need a USB Wifi Dongle.

the wireless light should flicker indicating it is sending a wireless signal out to a reciever.

If you have security for the wireless router so nobody else can connect without permission enable it or turn off the wireless signal if not using it.

Belkin router

it is possible that the settings for your ISP is already gone or the router is not recognizing the settings.

Oh by the way who'se your ISP, is it cable or dsl internet?

For cable internet the router's internet/WAN connection type must be set to "Dynamic" for DSL internet there are some that will require you to setup your userID and password given to you by your ISP, to do this just change the connection type to PPPoE and fill out the required fileds(usually it just the userID and password from your ISP).

To access your router setup page, just open internet explorer on your computer(given that its connected wireless or wired to the router) and type http://192.168.2.1 . Type admin for the password and leave the password blank.
