a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.

I just found a solution to the same problem... within the dvd software under the "capture" tab there is a settings button. You have to switch the input from "tv" to "composite". Was going nuts for hours. Hope this helps.

As you are probably aware the install guide is pretty rough. I had the same problem but did discover Sabrent has a support line (626-336-6363) and after disabling a driver for my ATI video card and some configuration changes it started working and I'm impressed with the quality and cost of this device. Oh By The Way the usb-avcpt also works with Roxio Media Creator 8.

Ok, here is what is going on. The default video setting in control panel> scanners and cameras> syntek 1160 is pal-b it should be NTSC_M. Right click on the Syntek 1160 and click Video Decoder Property. Change it to NTSC_M from Pal. Do this with the unit plugged in or it wont be displayed in the Scanners/Cameras options box. Right away the signal line should rear 1 from 0 with video hooked up. Keeping that setting to stay is my issue right now. I was so excited to figure it out, I had to post. I was about ready to throw the unit away. Its a program driver error. Hope this helps!!!
