SOURCE: Moen shower/tub faucet

hi... yes that's a very common issue with moen "cartridges" -- it's very simple to fix..... grasp the handle and give it a gentle tug upwards when the water is on... if it retracts again, pull the handle out again and tug again but this time a bit harder. Not sure what causes this on new cartridges but it will fix your issue.

SOURCE: low hot water pressure in kitchen faucet

this is fun, you probably have some rust or lime build up in faucet, most of these single handles you have to remove handle setscrew usually small allen wrench. shut off water supply first!!! next the barrel should be held on by a screw remove and lift barrel out you should now be able to see build up clean and reassemble if you are not confident with this call a plumber good luck

You have to remove cartridge and rotate 180 degrees then re-install. Was it removed or replace lately?

SOURCE: Step by step instructions for Moen 82496CBN

You need to loosen the two screws that attach the faceplate to the control valve on the outside of the shower stall. You should be able to pull the valve away from the stall and place a one or two inch board between the valve and the shower stall as a shim. Vary the thickness of the shim until you are flush with the handle, then secure the shim.

Hot water handle got loose then eventually popped off this model Moen L4720 Villeta faucet. Where can I go for detailed repair instructions?

i just sent you a clarification request. The link above is an exploded parts diagram. You should be able to get some of these parts at lowes or home depot. Especially the cartridge.
No really all you have to do to change them out is turn off the water supply, and use the diagram to tell which parts go on when. I doubt you will be able to get everything from the store. But you can probably get any part on there from the moen website.

I hope this helps. I will be more than happy to help you further if you need it.
Thanks,

I was able to figure out how to get the handles apart, but can't figure out for the life of me how to get the center spout removed. Faucet is a Moen & Villeta Two Handle Lavatory Faucet

I took a look at the brand on the web and though I do not know your model, it appears that the center spout would have to be loosened from down under the sink and then pulled up from the top. Those units usually come in three parts, two valves and the spout. The valves are put in from under the vanity/sink and the spout is put in from above the vanity/sink.

HAVE MOEN MODEL INS792A WIDESPREAD 2 HANDLE BATHROOM FAUCET - LOOSE HANDLE ON LEFT SIDE - KEPT INSTRUCTIONS (PICS ONLY) - CAN'T FIGURE OUT HOW TO TIGHTEN LOOSE HANDLE - HELP??? THNX!

There is a cap on the top of the handle which can be removed by popping it out with a knife or a small flat tip screw driver. Inside you will see a screw which holds the handle to the faucet. Tighten this and replace handle cap.

How do you take a moen bathroom Model #: 84206 apart to fix a drip? Hot water side has a slow drip. Need to replace a seal. How does it come apart?

On the handle it self you should see a red and blue button plug. Remove this and you will see set screw. Remove handle, remember to shut off hot and cold water supplies under sink before you go any further.

Cannot get the cartridge out of the moen sh lav faucet..no cartridge tool, what can I use to get the cartridge out???

There is a small U clip that holds the cartridge in. It just slides up or down. Some Moen cartridges are very difficult to remove, they can be corroded inside "almost fused" it is best that you get a moen cartridge puller. Lowe's has them. If you decide to tackle this job make sure the water is off, and when you pull the cartrige remember the direction it came out. If you put it in backwards your cold will be hot, and your hot will be cold!
