    How to get more volume from the speakers. I have them all the way up and it is not very loud. My Ipad is louder. Should I get external speakers? Is there a hidden file to make them louder? Is there an equalizer?

    In your laptop and almost all laptops and keyboards "f1 to f12" are called function keys.These keys usually located in the upper line of number keys. f1 is usually for help&support.

    right click on computer on the desktop and click on manage. If you use windows7, it goes straight to computer management window. click on device manager on the left pane. It will show you all the devices currently installed. then click on the small arrow near the sound video and it will expand. right click on the audio codec and click on uninstall. don't delete driver file. just uninstall. close all windows and reboot system. when start up wait for audio driver installation. go to the control panel and click on sound. under playback you can configure the sound by sliding to a desired level. hope it hepls

SOURCE: 7330GZ Gateway laptop keyboard doesn't work

There is one thing you can try. Uninstall the drivers for the keyboard from the device manager, then reboot. The machine will find the keyboard and reinstall the drivers automatically. If this doesn't work, then I'm afraid the Shift key function has failed and the keyboard will need replaced in order to fix it.

SOURCE: my keys on my gateway laptop is not working right

Your keyboard has a "Numeric Pad" on/off button, in order to compress a full-sized keyboard (with its separate numeric-pad, on the right) into the smaller size of the laptop keyboard.

Press that on/off button, to resume "normal" operation of those keyboard characters that are "multi-labelled".

Cannot enter bios in the standard way with F2. I believe IDE controller is set to disable

Turn on your computer. If your computer is already on, then reboot it.

You need to see the initial display screen to get into the BIOS.

Press the F1 key immediately in one second intervals when you see the initial screen displaying the BIOS provider information.

The majority of Gateway computers use the F1 key.

If, for some reason this does not work, then use the F2.

All of Gateway's desktops use the F1 or F2 keys.

hope this helps

Where is the number lock key on the dell inspiron im5030

there is a large hole in the keypad user manual for the keypad on your laptop almost as if there is no number lock installed
the closest that I can get on the net is that the function key adds extra keys to the board
however with out a board to practice on that is not much use
next suggestion is to take the laptop to a dell service agent( maybe a shop that retails dell products ) and see if there is anyone there with information on the keyboard that can show you how to get the number lock to operate
It has to be on the board probably in the layers of the function key and with help it will be revealed
on a normal board the number lock has a small square box with 1in it
so that symbol appearing when function is used may be the key you want

What are the names of kyboard and its keys ?

it is only for a computer keyboard hope it help from you.

A computer keyboard serves as a main operating tool for accessing and inputting data into a computer. The keyboard features many functions and keys that a user may never use, but is still essential to some users. Understanding the keyboard can improve computer knowledge and use.

QWERTY Pad

The "QWERTY" pad is main sections of letters on the keyboard. These letters are mainly used for typing and also as shortcuts in programs like Windows Movie Maker, Adobe After Effects and computer games.
Number Pads

The far right side of the keyboard features a number pad that resembles a calculator. This number pad is essential for programs like Excel, but can also be used to input numbers as a typing function. More numbers are just above the "QWERTY" keyboard that also feature symbols when the "Shift" button is used.
Arrow Keys

The right bottom of a keyboard features four directional arrow keys. These keys provide navigation through word processing documents and also serve as scrolling functions in web browsers.
F Bar

The top of a keyboard features the "F Keys," a selection of keys that extends to "F12" on most keyboards. These keys serve different functions. For example, "Alt and F4" exits out of a program. "F1" will start the typing helper in word processing programs.
Extra Keys

New keyboard feature shortcut keys at the top of the keyboard. These include shortcuts like "Power," "Sleep Mode," "Calculator," "My Computer" and "Web." Some also include media controls for movies and music.

I need to know what the keys f1-f12 keys usage.

The uses for the function (f1-f12) keys varies based on which program you have open at the time. Different programs use them for different things.

However, your computer also has some default uses for these keys when combined with pressing the fn (function) key.

fn + f1 locks computer

fn + f2 changes our power use profile

fn + f3 puts the computer to sleep

fn + f4 puts the computer into hibernation mode

fn + f5 changes the display/output mode

fn + f6 decreases the screen brightness

fn + f7 increases the screen brightness

fn + f8 enables/disables wireless connections

fn + f9 enables/disables the touch pad

fn + f10 turns the cursor overlay on/off

fn + f11 turns the numeric overlay on/off

fn + f12 turns scroll lock on/off

Hello
To use multi functioned keys, you may use following combinations
1. Normal press, just present the the big function written on screen 2. Shift+Key, gives the second function of the key 3. Num Lock on, Gives the numbers written on the key like J gives 1 and so on 4. Fn+Key with Fn color function written on the F1 to F12 keys
Hope this helps

My wifi is

Use the "Fn" key in combination with one of the F Function keys(example - F1 F2-F3 etc.) above the set of numeric keys. It will be a dual symbol key, meaning it will have wireless icon printed on it or the word "WiFi" in addition to the F number. It is usually one of the first 3 or 4 F keys. Remember, the "Fn" key must be pushed at the same time. It is a key combination like using <shift> and a regular alpha key to put a letter in CAPS.
Hope this helps Fixa! I am online if you need further help.

Gateway laptop mouse not responding

In the rows above your Function keys (F1-F12) you should see some icons above F7-F12 (these are capacitive touch keys). If you see one with a square with a hand pointing with a plus sign, and it's red, just touch it. It's a touch key to disable your touchpad.

When i log off and the next user logs on the keys on the keyboard are wrong i.e. the j is a 1 the k is a 2 the l is a 3

The number lock key has been pressed or the BIOS configuration has been configured with the NUM lock on.
Check the BIOS setting.

To release the NUM lock.
Press the number lock key once, if you press it again it will turn the numbers again. It is usually one of the keys above the Function keys (ie F1 to F12 keys).
