SOURCE: replacing lid switch

someone, Im not finding that model number. Going by the first six digits Im assuming that this is a regular top loader and not an Oasis washer. If so, remove the end caps on the consol by pulling them off. Remove the screws under each end cap and flip the consol up. Unplug the lid switch connector and snap springs holding the cabinet on. The whole cabinet will pull forward and you can get at the lid switch. Check out the pics and post back...Catriver.

SOURCE: kenmore 110.92380200 washer lid switch replacement

You first have to remove the 2 phillip head screws on your face panel. There is one on each side located about 1 inch from the front corner.tThese 2 screws are holding down the entire front timer panel.Ok,now lift up & forward at the same time so you can swing back this timer panel and get it to balance back out of the way. Now, it becomes a little harder, locate the harness that your lid/spin switch is on by unscrewing the 2 screws on the spin switch.Pulling the bad switch away from your cabinet will expose the harness ,that way you will see where it is plugged in.After unplugging it your now ready to plug the new one in and just tuck in the harness in the cabinet.Flip the timer panel back down and screw it back down.Your done !!!

SOURCE: how do I get to the lid switch to replace it on my washer

Pull of the end caps #14 & 11 on the diagram. Remove the screws and the front panel will flip up. Then there are 2 clips connecting the bac to the cabimet. Snap those out and the the WHOLE front of the machine comes off if you tilt it forward. Go to sears.com and parts to bring up any model for anything and you can kind of see how things go together. Good luck.

I need the installations instructions for a Kenmore washer Mod 11020882990 for the lid switch Stella

This assumes that you have a basic Kenmore / Whirlpool top load, direct drive, neutral drain (it doesn't spin until the pump removes most of the water) machine.

First, see the Sears parts site for your washer:

http://www.searspartsdirect.com/partsdirect/part-model/Kenmore-Parts/Washer-Parts/Model-11020882990/0582/0153200?pathTaken=

and you'll see a list of major sub-components with diagrams and parts.

Newer model Whirlpool / Kenmore washers use a Lid Switch as a safety device. Unless the switch senses that the lid on the washer is closed, the washer will neither agitate nor spin.

Older models only used the switch during the spin cycle.

Try to bypass the Lid Switch by removing the Console and jumping the two outermost pins on the switch.

This is a Whirlpool PDF on how these washers operate. It has a diagram on jumping the switch as well as a detailed section on how the transmission works.

https://secured.whirlpool.com/Service/SrvTechAdm.nsf/2cd44500d572193285256a45004fd9d6/f7e2147fa98b28cf85257122007475cb/$FILE/L-55.pdf

It also has a troubleshooting guide.

To bypass the switch, you only have to disconnect the power to the washer, tilt the console back, unplug the switch and using an short piece of insulated wire, jump the two outermost contacts on the connector coming from the console and plug the washer back in.

Following is a description of how to gain access to the console and how to remove the cabinet if necessary.

http://www.american-appliance.com/catalog/newsdesk_info.php?newsPath=16&newsdesk_id=131&osCsid=913ba652cd504fb162f87d892bcb427b

With the jumper in place, try to re-start the washer.

If it works, the Lid Switch is a relatively inexpensive part and only requires you to access the console and remove the cabinet.

Mod. 110.29852992 80 series will not pump out

First, see the Sears parts site for your washer:

http://www.searspartsdirect.com/partsdirect/getModel!retrieve.pd?modelNumber=110.29852992&pathTaken=partSearch

and you'll see a list of major sub-components with diagrams and parts.

If it neither drains nor spins, the first thing to check is the Lid Switch. This prevents the machine from draining and spinning if the lid is open.

I assume that you cannot hear the motor trying to turn.

See the following for how to access the console and Lid Switch connection.

http://www.american-appliance.com/catalog/newsdesk_info.php?newsPath=16&newsdesk_id=131&osCsid=6f8112b458c05fcc8f6d1a4139b9a723

I'm assuming that it won't drain. Will it spin????

If it will neither drain NOR spin. I'd check the Lid Switch:

If it WILL spin but simply won't drain. I'd pull the cabinet (See above) and check the pump and hoses for any blockage.

Kenmore mod 23832100 Lid Switch broken HOw do I

Good day,
There are 3 different style lid switches used on Whirlpool/Kenmore washers. You have to break down the unit to determine which one you use. Any appliance parts house will carry what you need.
Here is an excellent tutorial.

Require a new lid switch to fit a model 22622100 type 111 Kenmore washer, also require a service manual to find out how to remove the washer top to instal the new switch

http://www.appliancepartspros.com/part_details.aspx?part_id=3100001&rdr=%2fmodelsearch_model.aspx%3fmodel_id%3d415134
Check out that link for the switch.
As for the washer top, you don't remove just the top, you remove the whole cabinet. Remove the two end cap trim pieces from the control panel, (just pry them off) remove the two screws securing the panel to the cabinet. Flip the control panel back on it's hinges. Unhook the lid switch wire harness, and use a screwdriver to pop out the two gold clips that secure the cabinet to the back panel. You should now be able to tilt the cabinet slightly forward (towards yourself) and pull off the base. You now have full access to replace the lid switch.

Kenmore stackable mod number 417.94802301

check your lid switch. if your lid swith is bad, it will fill and agitate, but will not pump or spin. therefore it will not go into rinse cycle without being able to pump out water. some lid swithes control the agitation also (usually frigidaire and older maytags), but i doubt yours does. you can check the lid switch for continuity while opening and closing the lid with a meter
