Antique Jenn-Air w210 double wall oven vent problem

Hello,      The fan in my Jenn-Air model W210 double wall oven blows through the holes for the clock, timers, and switches, building up thick layers of greasy dust around each hole.  It didn't do that when we moved into the house 15 years ago.       When I disassemble it, everything looks in place except for a 4-inch strip of foam at each end of the plate that has rotted off with age. Would replacing that foam fix the problem?  If so, what kind of foam should I use?  Home Depot has tape-backed foam insulation for windows and doors but I don't know how much heat it will be exposed to.  Can you help?  Thank you,    --Barry

Hi and welcome to FixYa,

Your model maybe different from what are commonly available in my country, but it would seem that the foam forms part of the internal ducting/filter. If it is not that porous, a heat resistant foam might be a substitute. Or perhaps the manufacturer, please locate the appliance's model and serial number before calling: Jenn-Air® Customer Service 1-800-Jenn-Air .

Pls post back result(s). Good luck and Thank you for using FixYa.

Hi bthis,
Yes replacing the foam barrier should fix your problem, Home Depot and Lowes both sell a heat rated foam strip that is used in heater units. That is what you need. Let me know if I can assist further. lone99star

Welcome to Fixya! They also carry Heat resistant Foam and Rubber insulation in Strips and Rolls I would try this instead and see where you can get with that. Just go to the Heat and Air Section and ask for it. Let me know what you get!

Fischer paykel double drawer motor runs constantly and will start

Is it the actual oven fan located on the back wall of the cavity behind the fan shroud or is it the cooling fan which is at the top of the cavity and blows air across the top of the oven? The cooling fan can't actually be seen.

Jenn-Air Wall Oven Model #WW30430P F5 Fault Code

I have the exact same problem with an F5 fault code. I also have a new clock assembly. RepairClinic.com said "Jenn Air fault code F5 = Hardware and watchdog circuits disagree / Replace clock assembly (also called the ERC)

Jenn Air Fault code for newer models F5 = Power to element relays disabled in cook mode
1. Intermittent oven temperature sensor or wire harness or,
2. Intermittent contact on power relay board"
This doesn't help since it is too technical. What should I do next?

I had the very same problem. I slid the oven out of the wall about 6" or so, unplugged it, plugged it back in. It worked. I'm not sure if I jostled some connection, or if unplugging/repluging it in reset some sort of circuit fault.

Big oops, Millwood. Shut power to the unit immediately and wait a day or more for it to dry out. If it works then, fine. If not, you've got a learning experience installing a new pad.
