SOURCE: Games are Not Running Smoothly On GX-280!!

Your problem lies in your graphics card. Your PC has 915G Express Chipset which contains integrated graphics, gma 900. Gma 900 is not made for gaming. You'll be experience lots of problems with gaming with that gma 900. So your best bet is to invest into a new graphics card. One of cheapest you can get is Nvidia Geforce 8400GS, and it's way way better than your gma 900. http://www.amazon.com/e-GeForce-PCI-Express-Graphics-Card-One-512-P2-N738-LR0/dp/tech-data/B0011FKI3M/ref=de_a_smtd

You can get a 8400GS for $38.99. So it's not so expensive and will play NFS Most Wanted perfectly at high settings.

But if you can't invest into a new card, try downloading this software called "Hare", it can defragment your ram, it might help a little.

Good Luck

SOURCE: power save mode

Yes, you arent getting a signal to your monitor from your video card. Try replacing. If its onboard then the Mainboard may be bad. These machines are known by Dell to go bad and is covered under warranty, provided you still have it.

The message you are getting is coming from the monitor, not the P.C.

Its telling you you it went into power save since its not getting a video signal from the P.C. Check connections as well.

If your using any kind of splitter, remove it and connect monitor directly to P.C. to be sure.
Good luck

There's a collection of drivers for the GX280 for Windows 2000 and XP on the Dell website: http://is.gd/ejJcM
If you're running a later version of the operating system (for example a 32 bit version of Windows 7) this webpage might have a solution that will help: http://is.gd/ejJmo (Microsoft Technet community)

Did you install it to the factroy default installation or did you install windows anew?

You need to install the Dell sound drivers. They're found on the dell home page or on your media that came with the Optiplex.

Also, check the system control / administtration / hardware section to see if windows potted a problem with the hardware.
