Question about Frigidaire Affinity ATF7000E Front Load Washer

1 Answer

After running a full cycle and removing the clothes, water continues to fill the tub. If I run a Spin Only cycle, it takes the water out, however, fills up again.

It doesn't matter if the door is open or closed.

Hello dko 1227 - If your washer will not stop filling up with water it could possibly have one of the following issues: a defective water inlet valve, air leak, holes or defective pressure switch. Does the water stop coming in? If no, then replace the water inlet valve. However if it does, then there are either holes or air leaks in the air bell or pressure switch hose, meaning tighten or replace the defective part or pressure switch will need replacing. Contact a professional to move forward accurately.

SOURCE: frigidaire front load washer won't spin, belt looks good, makes noise

Don't have much experience on Frigidaire. Is the motor a brush type, capacitor type or one of those new DC types? If it's got brushes and they are ok, then I would say your armature is up the creek. If it's a capacitor type (unlikely) then the capacitor is most likely duff. If it's the new DC type it could be a lot of things, most likely the module which breaksdown and passes an AC component in the motor supply which make the motor tremble but not rotate

SOURCE: Won't spin after wash cycle or rinse cycle

CHECK THE FOLLOWING---

1. Clogged drain line or water pump
Check to see if there's something stuck inside the pump or the drain hose connected to the pump (pump is usually located at the bottom and towards the back of the washing machine).

2. Water Pump
If the drain line isn't clogged, you may have a problem with the water pump such as a frozen pulley or a broken impeller. If that's the case replace the water pump. Note: if you have a belt driven washer, check the belt(s) for cracks, as this would be a perfect time to replace the belt(s) if needed.

SOURCE: Washer runs fine until spin cycle--will not drain,

Hello, This is going to be one of 2 problems...either your drain filter is clogged or your pump is bad. Take off the lower panel on front, Behind this panel you will find what looks like a gas cap to a car. Unscrew this gas cap(have some towels handy to mop up water) remove the drain trap (filter) you should see alot of debris, coins maybe a sock blocking it...clean out the trap and replace. If this does not fix the problem replace the pump, although it sounds like it's humming it may be siezed or impellers might be broken. The pump should be located right next to the drain filter at the front of the machine. If you have any other questions or concerns please feel free to comment again. Good Luck!!! Mike

First you need to open the cabinet and remove the boot from the tub to the pump and clear the filter. Try that then run a cycle and post back the results.

Washer sticks on wash cycle; runs continuosly on spin cycle

That sounds like you have one of them fancy water saving outfits with a diverter valve that dumps the pump water continuosly over the clothes. Weirdest washer I ever saw. Could be the solenoid that opens the drain pump has failed. Don't know too much about em but I do have the service manual. Post your model number for a more precise answer. first, run a rinse, drain & spin cycle. after it finishes filling, shut the water supply (taps) off. If water enters the washer after the drain, it has to be sifoning back in from the DRAIN hose. Check to see if the drain hose is not going up above the washer more than a few inches

Try suspecting the tub end of the water level tube being plugged with " goop " so that the washer thinks it is still full of water, thus will not fill or spin. Take the front panel off by releasing the push in clips at the top of the front panel, in the seam where it meets the washer's top. Now, find the tube at the left side of the outer tub and pull it off the tub. Clean it out or cut off an inch (don't do the cutting thing more than one time) and replace after using a thin wire to clean out the tub end of the attachment. To help prevent this from re-occuering, every few months, fill the washer to the lowest setting with the hottest water, no clothes, and several cups of bleach, and run the longest cycle you have (with no clothes, of course). Make sure to rinse out the tub on a higher water level before you wash a load of clothes.

Frigidaire (LTF2940E) Washer starts, stops, starts, stops...

The cycle doesn't advance When the cycle doesn't advance, it's probably the timer or a cold-water supply problem:

  • It's the timer, if your washing machine fills with water and begins agitating, but the timer never advances--or if the washer is in a spin cycle and the timer won't advance. Then you need to replace the timer.

  • It may be a cold-water supply problem, if the washing machine fills with water, agitates, drains, and spins, but then doesn't fill with rinse water. See There's no cold water.

GE WSM2780W Stacked Washer spin cycle

With no clothing in the wash tub take the following steps:
1. remove the front cover from the wash tub
2. run a full cycle of laundry and observe the tub's behavior

Potential Solutions:
A. If the tub begins to shake wildly during a full wash cycle with no clothing in it then you will need to adjust the 3 large springs on each side of the tub until the unit is working in a more-balanced position. This is simple to do by hand. If the tub appears to be shaking too far forward, then unhook the 2 large springs in back so they are tighter. Then run a full wash cycle again with no clothing.
* note: there are smaller springs too - you don't have to adjust these to fix your issue

B. If the tub works fine with no clothing during a full wash cycle, then try to load your clothing in a more balanced fashion. For example: if your wash load is only a small kitchen or bath rug then when the unit spins it will spin off balance with a wet & heavy item on only one side of the tub.

C. If you'd like to replace the 3 large springs, I can get you the part numbers. There are specific springs for both sides of the wash tub and they are different part numbers. The full replacement of the 3 large springs can be done by hand.

thanks,
Chris I.
