Hi Norm33,

The often found cause of this problem is the door interlock. There is a safety feature to stop any operation while the door is open. If this becomes faulty, the washer may still not work even when the door is closed. Check that when closing the door, the catch is activating the switch. To test the switch, first make sure the WASHER IS NOT PLUGGED IN, then use an electrician's meter to test the resistance across the switch. You should put the two electrodes on the contacts at the back of the switch. When the door is closed, the resistance reading should read a very low value.

Another possible cause for this is a fault on the timer. You should inspect the connecting wires for any sign of burnt plastic or charring on the spade connectors. You will need to replace the timer if this is the problem. Please dont forget to rank me.

Top load does wash cycle and cliks and then stops

the board that dictates the wash cycle/spin etc has malfunctioned,,you can remove top of machine and get part number/ref number from the circuit board and try to locate one on ebay or fone round yor local washing machine/electrical repair shops to see if they can either fix it or locate another circuit board for you,,,hope this helps,,,p.s. make sure machine is unplugged at mains before any examinations,,,!!!

Wash load almost complete, buzzer went off, door locked & won't open. Lights all blinking. Unplugged washer, plugged back in, lights still blink, door still locked.

To open the door first unplug the machine then take off the front panel under the door (three screws at the bottom) reach in by the door lock and there will be a plastic tab hanging down, that is the manual release for the door. Pull it down and the door should open right up. I'm judging that the machine is flashing a code when it shuts down, often times its F11 or FdL in either case the problem is most often a bad CCU circuit board (whirlpool had quality control problems with this circuit board) There's what's called cold solder joints on the board at the points where the spade connectors and relays (5 of them) are supposed to be firmly soldered to the board. These bad connections cause the Duet washer to have all kinds of issues. To repair it you need to take out the CCU circuit board It's in a plastic case at the inside, top, back of the machine. Remove the case as a whole, it's easier that way. Then remove the circuit board and touch-up those points I mentioned. If you not good with solder techniques you can remove the board (keep it in the case) and take it, and this response, to a good appliance repair shop and they should be able to help you out. Good luck.

In the middle of washing a load of clothes the letters fl showed up and the washer started beeping what do i do about this and what does fl mean

FL - Overfill Condition
This error message occurs only if the machine control board
sees an open circuit at P17. If this is the case:
■ Press Stop/Cancel to clear the display.
■ With the power disconnected, check the upper harness
connection to P17 on the machine control. Look for any
contaminants on the contacts. There should be a closed
circuit in the harness between P17 contacts 1 and 3.
■ Replace the upper harness or machine control as necessary.

End of wash cycle (last 2 minutes,) F code, no spin & drain

If your getting an FdL or F11 (and possibly others) code the problem is more than likely the CCU. The CCU is a circuit board at the inside top back of the machine. The board has quality issues in that it is prone to cold solder joints at the spot where the relays and the spade connectors for external connections meet the circuit board. The repair is to remove the board and touch-up those solder joints.

Machine does not power on. Control panel does not light up. Machine does not beep when plugged in.

Hi there,I'm afraid it sounds as though the main computer board is dead or the display panel where the buttons are is dead. Also i'm not sure with this model but with some of them the power runs thru the water pump before powering the the main board,if the pump is open circuited or dead then it may not be providing power to the main board. With a multi meter the pump can be tested for a circuit,it should read around 34ohms.or take the pump out (its quite easy) & take it somewhere & have this test done to it.this could be the cheapest way out & a good starting point. Ps if you recently had a bad electrical storm or power surge then that might be it..dead main board..In my tips section i mention the importance of unplugging these types of machine after washing to keep them safe.I hope i have been helpful in some way.Ide be glad to hear how you went.cheers Chris
