Take a few minutes to view the IR 650 demo video

Use a BGA Rework Station like the above.

Going to use a good Southbridge chip from another motherboard, that is the same?

Removing a good Southbridge chip is redundant.
Buy one? MAY be possible.

By the time you have a BGA Rework Station used, the cost may equal, or exceed the cost of a replacement motherboard.

Oven / Torch /Heatgun method? Yeah right.
Temporary repair at best.

1. function of bios chip 2. function of north and south bridge chipset 3. cpu function

Hi there. Here is a brief description of those components found on the motherboard.

1. BIOS chip: This is known as Basic Input Output System and the chip contains the base instructions on how to boot the PC. All personalized settings can be configured in the BIOS such as CPU overclocking.

2. North Bridge: This component works with high speed hardware components such as RAM and PCI-E cards.

3.South Bridge: This component works with slower speed hardware components such as the hard drive and USB.

4. CPU: Central Processing Unit, this is basically the brain of a computer and this component is the one that does all calculating of data. So when you run an application, the CPU processes the data involving the application.

While Im playing my game the game just freezes and even if i reset it freezes again

I have found to culprits that cause Freezes ( lock up).
First is the G.P.U. has intermittent contact to the main
board , and the second is a chip called the" South Bridge"
aka bios. has lost communication to the G.P.U.and or

What i normally do is re flow the G.P.U. then clamp it back to the main board . And than if we still
Freezes up ill reflow and or place a South Bridge clamp
on the offending chip.

This will remedy the problem average mean time to failure 9-12+ months

If you have any questions feel free to ask.

Please help me identify where is the north and south of motherboard

Its normally printed on the board, north bridge and south bridge. But I would suggest that it would be advisable to go to the ASUS website, follow links for downloads and support. There, you should be able to download a user manual for your motherboard and all the drivers, which you will need to install when you get your PC up and running.

The south chipset bridge of my Asus k8n-vm motherbard heats up

85 to 95 is ok. Anything higher than100 is pushing it. If possible add a fan to the side of the system case (Best choice) or you can buy a south bridge fan. You're MB doesn't have holes in the MB to attach a chipset fan but you can still attach a cooler on to the chipset. Like this fan;
And you'll need this as well for a good bond;
