If you are connecting a laptop to a tv you need to use a hdmi cable or if you use a vga cable you will also need an audio cable as well.

I hit something on the keyboard that made my monitor go blank

The specially colored "Fn" key is intended to work for extra functionality. Try combining the Fn + Function keys where key symbols vary from system manufacturer so I can't tell how which key will work to re-enable your screen back (try Fn + F7).

Cannot regulate sound volumn from Onkyo RC-620M remote

If the protection key like child lock is activated, volume might get locked. If it is changing on the device and not through remote and all the keys are functioning, the problem is in the remote control. Might require thorough cleaning inside or go for a replacement.

I have an Emerson flat screen and I would like to hook up my computer tower to it to use it as a moniter. I have the HDMI cord plugged into the tower and the tv, however I cant get it to come onto my tv. I...

Usually, you have to use one of the function keys at the top of the keyboard to transfer the monitor signal from the normal output to the HDMI. It will depend on the model of computer. You might try holding down your function (FN) key and depressing F5. That's usually it. But it could be F9 on some models. You should see a design on the function key that looks like a monitor. See if that does it.

Color registration off

on the control panel, select "additional functions", then press "2" and "8" at the same time, and then press "additional functions" again. You should see a white screen with the words, copier, feeder, etc. Press "additional fuctions" and then press the "2" key. This will take you into level 2 of service mode. On the screen, select "copier", then "function", then "clear", and then select "reg clear", and then press "ok" in the lower left of the touchscreen. Press "reset" multiple times to get back out of service mode. Turn the machine off, and then back on. Press additional functions and go to "adjustment and maintenance". Select "auto gradation" and perform a "quick" adjust, and then a "full" adjust. This should bring your registration back. If you keep experiencing the problem, the secondary transfer roller located just before the fixing assy/fuser unit on the left side drawer that pulls out could have build-up in the bushings, or the transfer belt and drive rollers could be causing the problem too. Hope this helps.
