Question about Acer TravelMate 290LCi Notebook
On XP check your "ScreenSaver" Monitor power "Power" options settings. It might be set to turn off monitor after so many minutes.
go to Control Panel >click on "Mobile PC"> click on "Power Options" > Check "Change plan settings" on the selected option
Adjust time as required
