Try updating your sound card driver(or reinstalling) from your PC's manufacturer's website.
Otherwise, something might be wrong with your sound card.
If you have windows, my last resort would be to check the Event Log for sound card errors, or using system restore to when it was last working.

It seems that the while converting the file into DVD format while burning, you looses out your voice quality... Go to the option of the DVD Burner which you use. search for the option converting or compressing.. choose the dont compress or choose the retain high quality while converting or option like this...
