Question about Frigidaire ATF6000ES Front Load Washer

1 Answer

Frigidaire ltf2940fe1 error code e52 it says replace either the drive motor or speed controlboard

Have replaced both. Washer drains but does not spin. Turns clockwise but starts to go counter clockwise then stops. You can hear it click and then turns clockwise and then tries to reverse and stops. Eventually it just shuts down. If you change the setting to drain and spin it will spin. Please help I don't know what to try now that I've changed what the manual said to replace.

Hello Amy Taylor - If both the drive motor and speed control board has been replaced, then I strongly suggest contacting a professional to move forward accurately. The washer could be experiencing a wiring failure or communication error with the board, which would need further diagnosing.

SOURCE: Frigidaire front load washer (LTF600ES1) Error E20

holla, Im not showing a E20 code on the tech sheet. There is a E21. Water not draining fast enough. Try holding the start/pause and cancel key together for 3 seconds. The door lock, wash, rinse and final spin leds should light. Any error codes should be displayed when holding those keys. If you see a different error code, post it. If not, I would suspect a clogged pump...Catriver.

SOURCE: Frigidaire front load washer won't drain or spin

This often is a drain hose that is too low or a drain hose that has been pushed too far down inside the stand pipe....the water is actually siphoning out of the washer. Do not "seal" the drain hose to the house plumbing pipe, this will also allow the water to be siphoned out.

Hello,

Welcome to FixYa.

Based on what you've described,...you likely need a door lock/switch assembly.

The door latch is likely the single most common fault (which prevent's any spin, and consequently drenching wet clothing at the end of the cycle) with the frigidaire/electrolux built washer's, aside from pump's being obstructed.

I think it fool's many people because the lock indicates it is energized on the panel, however the built in "monitor" switch inside the assembly fail's. I do see a lot of these particular machine's...unfortunately.

You should be able to purchase one at most local brick & mortar stores or on-line part's depot's such as "searspartsdirect.com" "repairclininc.com" to name a couple. They usually sell for about $50 or so, part # 1531974 ( # at repairclinic.com ) and are relatively easy to replace. It should resemble the image here...

As for replacing said switch, There are a couple ways to access it, through the top and squeezing your arm down the front or the way I prefer, remove the front bellows spring/retainer.

1) **unplug the washer from the wall...safety first of course.**

2) Remove the spring, get it started where the spring is located with a small screwdriver. Once you`ve got the spring/retainer off ( it comes off and on pretty easy by hand ) pull the gasket/bellows back away from the cabinet.

3) Undo the two screws holding the switch to the cabinet, pull the switch out ( there is just enough slack in the wires so don`t pull too hard ) and swap the wires from the old assembly to the new one and you`re in business.

4) To put it back together, just reverse the removal procedure. The trickiest part is the retainer. Rap the retainer around the boot leaving the spring for the last...and make sure the spring is located at the 6 o`clock position...usually. Just wherever it was initially.

Let me know if you need further assistance going forward or if my instructions are not clear.

P.S.
There is a slim chance of a faulty motor or motor control board, but that would not be where I would direct you to start...those are exceptions rather than the rule.

Thank you for visiting FixYa today. Good luck.

Regards,

Macmarkus :)

I have a Frigidaire affinity front load washer (fafs4474lwo) it doesn't do the final spin to get the water out of the clothes. I was getting an E52 and E58 codes. I replaced the drive motor and the motor...

Just a thought. If the drum spins when washer is empty that tells me your belt could be shot and just slips when there is a load in it. Check and see if the belt wiggles or appears loose when you squeeze it by hand with the plug pulled of course. If the belt is tight it could be a pulley is spinning on the shaft.

Error code E58

If you have a front-load washer that was manufactured by Frigidaire, the E58 error indicates high current on the motor. This could mean that the motor is bad, the bearings that the tub spins on are bad, or a problem with the speed control board. To test this, you'll need to access the motor and tub area of the washer. Unplug the power before opening the washer. Take the belt off the motor pulley and check if it spins freely. If it doesn't, then replace the drive motor. If it does spin freely, check if the large pulley on the tub spins freely. If that doesn't rotate, you'll need to replace the outer tub and spin basket in order to replace the failed bearings. If the pulley rotates easily, you'll need to check the motor windings. If the resistance is between 4-6 Ohms, the speed control board is probably faulty. If the resistance is not in the correct range, the motor is bad and needs to be replaced.

A Frigidaire washer technical data sheet is available here: http://manuals.frigidaire.com/prodinfo_pdf/webster/134542000.pdf .

If your washer is under warranty, contact the manufacturer. If you add a comment with the model number of your washer, I may be able to provide a source for the parts.

I hope this helps.

Error code 52 affinity washer

Thank you for your post, Friend.

An error code E52 is normally associated with a bad signal from tacho generator. A qualified technician would pinpoint the problem by checking the wiring between the drive motor and speed control board. If the wiring isn't the issue, he would need to determine whether the problem rests with the main control board or the speed control board. It really could be a hit or miss calculation in parts so I would personally reach out to an experienced tech that will be able to identify the precise reason. Best regards! - Z

Error code e52

Good Afternoon Tracy, thank you for allowing me to assist you!

An error code E52 is associated with a tacho signal failure. The motor contains the tachometer and the motor control board reads the signal from the tachometer. If you have replaced both components, then something is preventing the tub from spinning or there is possibly a wiring issue between the motor and motor control board. This is not a typical DIY job. I would recommend reaching out to an experienced appliance tech just to ensure no step has been missed.

Best of luck!

My front load washer had e59 code I replace the control board now I have e52 code

Good Afternoon Richard, thank you for your post!

An error code E52 typically relates to the speed control board or the motor itself. An experienced service technician would test these parts by measuring the resistance of the motor to distinguish exactly which part it is. This is not a typical do-it-yourself job. Personally, I would recommend reaching out to a qualified appliance repair person who will be best able to pinpoint the exact problem causing the error code. I hope this information helps to some degree.

Best regards!

Error code E52 can't find manuel doesn't spin fast

bad signal from tacho generator. You have to disconnect the plug from the drive motor and measure the resistance pins 4&5 in the motor. if the reading is between 105 & 130 ohms, replace the speed control board. if the meter reads other than between 105&130 ohms replace the motor.
