yes the power supply inside the unit is now gone.
it needs a rebuild.
or replacment, you can call a company named andrews electronics, give them your model number and ask them cost of power supply board..
The 2 blinks are an indication of over-current. This is usually because of a shorted component. The most common is the horizontal output transistor. This will be a 3-legged part attached to a heat sink close to the flyback transformer (part with red wire coming out the top). This transistor will be marked C4856 or something similar. Update this with the exact marking and I'll provide you with the full part number and approximate cost.
Ed Im sorry tom have to inform you that a red light blinking is an indication that the main power supply is good BUT the sweep supply has a problem .. Most likly the high voltage transformer as well as the horizontal transistor is bad. if you have no solid state repair experience, you will not be able to fix this set on your own as we techs do gfo to school to learn the circuits in these sets and there are safety issues you have to know and equipment you have to have. sorry my freind but you going to need to call or take the set top a trained tech to trouble shoot as you cannot look at the board and see a problem. you have to troubleshoot the board and test the circuitry.
