My Acer Aspire 7720 has a problem since about 3 weeks.
I have not yet been able to pin-point when it occurs on a specific action. What happens is the laptop blacking-out. It's like someone just cuts the power to it (or just pulls out the battery).
I've restored to the factory image but this has not yet solved the problem.

I'm not sure if you mean (1) your utility power supply is not stable or (2) your router power supply is not stable.
If (1) you can purchase an uninterruptible power supply (UPS). A line interactive unit will probably best.
If (2) the problem may be a loose or damaged power cord. Try jiggling the power cord at various points. Breaks usually occur near plugs but can occur anywhere, especially if you have biting animals around. Sometimes power plug pins can be bent slightly to improve connections. Make sure the power cord is unplugged before trying this!
