Acer Aspire 7720 Powerdown Problem

My Acer Aspire 7720 has a problem since about 3 weeks.

I have not yet been able to pin-point when it occurs on a specific action. What happens is the laptop blacking-out. It's like someone just cuts the power to it (or just pulls out the battery).

I've restored to the factory image but this has not yet solved the problem.

Processornaam Intel(R) Core(TM)2 Duo CPU T5550 @ 1.83GHz

Execution Trace Cache 32 KB x 2
L2 cache 2 MB
I can reproduce the error.

    When I Repair a downloaded movie with quickpar, it blacks-out somewhere during the process (it differs);

    When I watch movies most of the times it blacks-out;

    When I use my laptop for more then an hour, it blacks-out, but when it does that differs everytime.

So is it just the screen blanking out or the whole machine? Do an=y of the caps lock leds work?
Does it occur with the power supply plugged in...eliminating the battery as a cause of problem.

What to do when the power is not stable

I'm not sure if you mean (1) your utility power supply is not stable or (2) your router power supply is not stable.
If (1) you can purchase an uninterruptible power supply (UPS). A line interactive unit will probably best.
If (2) the problem may be a loose or damaged power cord. Try jiggling the power cord at various points. Breaks usually occur near plugs but can occur anywhere, especially if you have biting animals around. Sometimes power plug pins can be bent slightly to improve connections. Make sure the power cord is unplugged before trying this!

Acer Aspire One cannot connect no IP address> I have wireless at home and went to Barnes and Nobles and connected and came back home and now it says I dont have an IP address We have tried disconnecting...

First off check the wireless is enabled some laptops switch it off when the battery power is getting low.

If you have assigned IP addressesd on your home network then you would need to check that it is still in effect

1. start, control panel, network connections, select the appropriate wireless connection (right click ans select "properties"

2. select "internet protocol (tcp/ip)" and click the properties for this.

3. If you use fixed IP's etc here is where you put them. If you dont then make sure that "obtain IP address automatically" is selected alone with "obtain DNS server address automatic"

4. make sure you click any "apply" boxes before you click any OK boxes and do so until you are back to control panel.

AT this point I would do a "shut down restart"

This would normally fix most problems
