That very much sounds like a driver problem.
One thing you may try first is when you get to the download page for the drivers.Select ALL on the driver page. Normally you get one selection to show up when you just click on the driver page. When you click ALL then Go and you will see more options.
There is not a Vista driver for that product if that is your operating system.
Maybe just delete the printer and re install. Something is wrong with your driver, corrupted or just not functioning correctly.
I do not have my laptop with me right now, I left it at the office with my other documentation on it.
I will look up more in the morning for you.
But this very much strikes me as a corrupt driver problem.

the problem is in the scanner, open it up and see if you can find any smudges, and clean any obstruction, any ink, liquid eraser residuals, can cause this part to appear as lines on your copied faxed image.
dont concentrate on the printer this is a scanner problem

Go to the printer in your printer folder in control panel. Right click on it and select properties. Then select the last tab named "Printer" and click "Get information from printer button". Hope it helps you.. works for me.

SOURCE: Xerox Phaser 7700 printing Black line across bottom of every page

The line could be caused by contamination on the black laser lens. Try using the cleaning wand located in the front door to clean the lens. You will need to remove the waste toner container to access the wand slots. If that does not solve the problem, the black developer housing may need to be replaced. It took me a while to figure this out. Your 3220 must be connected to ethernet (I havent tried it with the 3220 connected directly to the computer). Also, this works with a free email with domain Godaddy account, so YMMV.
1. Open your web browser and navigate to the 3220's CentreWare IS. 2. Click on "Protocol/SMTP Server" 3. Check "Host Name" 4. Type smtpout.secureserver.net/80 for server/port 5. Check "SMTP requires authentication" 6. Enter your username/pw 7. Click "Save Changes"
If you are asked for a username/pw to save the settings, the 3220's default are admin/1111.
Now click on "E-mail/E-mail Setup" on the navigation. Make sure your default [From:] address is your sender email address (they must match). Click "Save Changes"
As a final recommendation, I strongly suggest that you create your address book (E-mal/Local Address Book on the navigation) to make it easier to send by email, otherwise you will have to manually enter email addresses using the 3220's keypad (very slow!). Create groups for sending scans to several emails without having to select each individual email from the 3220's panel (also slow!).

Update your firmware, follow the steps included in the zip available at www.xerox.com. Or switch to the PS driver which most xerox's prefer. Also if its a .pdf file. Click advanced and choose, print as image.

My M15i Xerox Workcentre is printing with a vertical line down the page


Solutions for : Vertical Black Lines on Copies When the Automatic Document Feeder and Document Glass are Used Solution : Clean the Drum
  1. Make sure there is paper loaded in the paper tray.
  2. Press the [Menu / Exit] button on the Control Panel.
  3. Press the [Up] or [Down] arrow button until 'Maintenance' is displayed on the Display Screen.
  4. Press the [Enter] button. 'Clean Drum' will be displayed.
  5. Press the [Enter] button. 'Cleaning Drum Please Wait' will be displayed and a sheet of paper will be printed. Toner (Dry Ink) particles on the Drum will be affixed to the paper.
  6. Repeat steps 1 - 5 until the page prints without any Toner particles.

Pages are printing with black lines


If it is making the lines while copying and printing , then the problem is the drum unit.
If it is copy only, then the issue it most likely a dirty scanner or seal glass.
