my blower switch shorted out. Could smell the plastic once removed. Liquids dripped into contacts during cleaning. Switch replacement obsolete. Found switch @ Ace. Made modifucation to panel to accept rectangular switch.
This means the oven lock is activated. The cook top touch panel is likely causing some problem. Try to press the child lock button and see if F1 goes off. Otherwise the control panel will need to be replaced.
I've often seen the display on these units go dim due to a failure in the control board. It may well start out as an intermittent failure. Your comment about covering it reminds me that some ovens have an ambient light sensor to automatically dim the display but I don't recall seeing that on your model.
In either case, it sounds like the classic failure mode we often see.
If you can have the control removed, we may be able to help you, we repair oven controllers at www.fixyourboard.com.
hi im gerbee,i will sujest to clean the area were is the place of ur knob control try to remove the control knob then clean it by using a vaccium coz sometimes the problem is very dirt of the control knob.
Great.. finally. i manage find from solution from user guide.. L is Locked. below is the instruction. will check out tonight.
The locking function holds the current settings, or prevents anyone
from starting the hob. It is also used for cleaning the control strip
as the controls can be locked without the hob being on.
To lock the hob :
-Press the on/off button .
-Press simultaneously " - " button and " + " button of the front
right zone (PVD 633 front left zone), and then press again on
the " + " button of this zone. The hob is locked, the locking
indicator " L " is displayed on all zones for 20 seconds.
To unlock the hob :
-Press the on/off button . The locking indicator " L " is displayed
on all zones.
-Press simultaneously the " - " button and the " + " button of the
front right zone (PVD 633 front left zone), and then press again
on the " - " button of this zone.
The hob is unlocked.
1. Turn off the power at the breaker box. 2. lift off the air grill. 3. remove the two screws at the front of the control switch panel (escutcheon).. 4. slide the control panel forward until it disengages, then lift up to expose the switch assembly and wiring.
Got the same problem, and remembered I've kept the manual book
L means locked. I dont know how Ive managed to do this as well
Anyway it says:
Cancelling the key lock After switching ON the control the child safety feature can be deactivated. Here it is necessary to simultaneously operate the front right cooking-zone-select-key and the MINUS-key and then operate the MINUS-key alone. If all steps hae been carried out in the right order within 10seconds the key lock gets cancelled and the control is OFF. Otherwise the input will be considered incomplete, the control remains locked and switches-OFF after 20 seconds.
After a renewed switching-ON/OFF key all displays show 0", the display dots are blinking and the control is ready for ooking. If a cooking zone is "hot", "H" will be displayed instead of the static 0".
Followed their instructions & still not worked. ,I am still confused and baffled after these instructions........................
