Re: ps3 guitar hero world tour issue
If you have aftermarket controllers that have a wireless plug (with red light) you must make sure that this is not plugged in while starting the system... it will automatically try to be player 1, no matter which slot it is in... just have one plugged in at a time until you are ready to log in the 2nd controller.

Just plug the Guitar Hero drums wireless adapter into the usb port. Then press the power button on the drums to switch them on ,then hold down the button on the adapter and press the power button on the drums again .They should connect ,if not it may be the version of your playstation doesnt work with the Guitar Hero World Tour disk.
wel make sure that the controller for the ps3 is turned on becouse without it you wont be able to use the mik and if its a wireless guitar try pairing it to the ps3 then choose band play and they should all work perfectly together
PLZ RATE IF U FIND THIS HELPED YOU IN ANY WAY TANKS.

That is just so fucked ! I really would advice you to go back to the shop probably its packaged wrong.... Tell your son that the packagers are jerks :) ! I had a ps3 guitar and it worked , at the shop they will give it back directly. Good Luck!
beebe623 was right. with some extra steps. Simple steps here:
1. Unplug the drum receiver.
2. Turn off the PS3.
3. Remove batteries from the Drum Controller.
4. Plug in the Drum Receiver.
5. Put batteries back in drum revceiver.
6. Turn on PS3.
7. Hit the PS button on the Drums once. (all 4 lights should flash)
8. Push and hold down the button on the Drum Receiver for about 5 seconds, then release.
9. Push the PS button again on the Drum Controller. At this point the drums should be assigned a port and synced up.
All this is in the instructions that came with the game.
just asked this same question.
discovered that by removing one of our wii controllers from the drum set that we could use the microphone and the guitar. Guessing that having a 3rd controller would allow for the full band to play together (guitar, drum, and vocals). Thinking that by having 4th controller, we could hook up our other microphone or another guitar.
