SOURCE: RYOBI Expand It 2 stroke engine. RY26000 won't

I had the same issue. I disassembled carb and cleaned. Started up, but ran poorly. Looked at a few google searches and found a forum about his issue. I came across a write up about failed muffler bearings. I did some research, but to no avail. on part numbers. I went to a repair shop and inquired about how to get a muffler bearing ordered for my unit. It has been about a week since I was at the shop and I did call, but they assure me that they are working on getting this part for me. Apparently these motor parts are made in China and that can create some issues when trying to get parts. I may have to let the repair shop do the repair since I was told it may be a bit complicated to replace without having the experience. If it is as difficult to locate, I would not want to damage it when trying to install and have to get another. I will be glad to repost once it has been repaired. Perhaps this muffler bearing is an issue with a lot of other units and we may be able to contact the manufacturer for a refund or a free muffler bearing? I hope!!! Good luck out there and hang tight. I may be on to something here, I've got a good feeling about this.

SOURCE: How to adjust fuel air mix in Ryobi Lawn hornet

hello sir,, now there are two types of carb.adjustment screw covers, the old one where there are plastic over the screws, simple remove the plastic covers with a pair of needle nose pliers or cutting off,,,second are the new ones that are above the adjustment screws, which you have to take your drummel tool with the cutting blade and cut slots in the screws, after you get this done it is important to count the number of rotations in until stops make note how many. because you are going to reset the same way.now remove the screws, put to the side when you get ready to put screws in put in all the way than back out as many turns that you noted, now that is factory set there should only be a small adjustment to do. the rule of thumb is turn both out 1 1/4 turn and adjust in until saw runs smooth and idles ok, it is hard to adjust the top speed when saw is running wide open, let saw idle when adjusting top speed is easier that way, when you go to cut wood you may have to readjust top speed, the above does apply some what if you are not using fresh gas mix and dumped out the old fuel and starting with fresh, and a new plug CJ8Y,and as you know the saw has to breath in and out by this i mean a clean air filter, make sure the small screen on the muffler is not cloged, this will keep saw from running at peak speed and sawing wood, ok i have ran across a few saws to where the small screen in the muffler is cloged so the saw would idle but not run at high rpm's,if you do and check all of the above your saw should run,oh btw check compression should be above 60 to 160 lbs, hope this helps, any comments welcome, please accept my solution, thank you. 00

I have a Ryobi s430 that starts and runs and throttles up fine when level but will stop if I tilt it to start using it even if I have the throttle pulled. Acts like its bogs down when not level.

Investigate the fuel line inside the fuel tank. Sounds like it may be split or cracked, or broken off. The line has a weighted pick up filter, and it is very common for the line to crack or break off so that when tilted, the line is above the fuel level.

Oil petrol mixture for Rockwell 26cc weedeater

Two cycle engines run on a mixture of gasoline and oil. Each engine type is designed to run on a specific gas-to-oil mix ratio.
IMPORTANT: Use only oil that is labeled for use in "Two-cycle" or "Two-stroke" engines. Home Depot and other stores now have "premixed fuel" of gas and 2 cycle oil.
To mix two-cycle fuel, start by putting correct amount of oil in gas can. Then slowly add correct amount of gasoline. Do not try to mix gas and oil directly in gas tank of equipment.

IMPORTANT: Do not use any fuel that is over 30 days old. Do not mix more fuel than you are likely to use in a month. Old fuel can gum carburetors and prevent starting. Always use fresh fuel.

The chart below shows correct amount of oil per gallon that each mixing ratio requires. Expect that yours will be between 32 gas to1 oil and 50 to 1. 32:1 and 50:1 are most popular.
Ratio GAS:OIL UNITED STATES OIL per 1 U.S. GALLON Gasoline
(128 oz.)
*INTERNATIONAL OIL per 1 IMPERIAL GALLON Gasoline
(160 oz.)
*INTERNATIONAL OIL per 1 LITER Gasoline
(metric)
32:1 4 oz. 5 oz. 31.25 mL 40:1 3.2 oz. 4 oz. 25 mL 50:1 2.6 oz. 3.2 oz. 20 mL

Wht is the gas to oil ratio for a homelite vac

Yours is not a current model and I did not find a manual. The following is an excerpt from a 26cc MightyLite Blower/Vac UT08550/UT08951 "Operator's Manual":
This product is powered by a 2-cycle engine and requires pre-mixing gasoline and 2-cycle lubricant. Pre-mix unleaded gasoline and 2-cycle engine lubricant in a clean 1 gallon container approved for gasoline.
Recommended fuel: This engine is certified to operate on unleaded gasoline intended for automotive use.
Mix Homelite Premium Exact Mix lubricant with gasoline according to the instructions on the package. If Premium Exact Mix lubricant is not available, use a high quality synthetic 2-cycle engine lubricant, mixed at 2.6 oz. per gallon (US).
Do not use automotive lubricant or 2-cycle outboard lubricant.
NOTE: Premium Exact Mix fuel mix will stay fresh up to 30 days. DO NOT mix quantities larger than usable in a 30 day period.
PREMIUM EXACT MIX (50:1)
GasolineLubricant
1 gallon (US) 2.6 oz.
1 Liter 20 cc (20 ml)

1 quart fuel:3/4 ounces of oil = 1 Gallon fuel:3 ounces of oil or slightly less than 43:1. Not what a current manual recommends.

If properly adjusted your blower will operate fine on 50:1 regardless of what the manual reads. HTH

Mb 3200 gas leaf blower will start when choke

The carburetor could need rebuilding or you have some bad gas. I would mix up some 2 cycle oil and fresh gas from the station. I would try the new fuel mixture first.
Good Day.

May need carburetor adjusting or you may have some bad fuel mixture. I would mix up some fresh fuel mixture and try it. I would get my new gas from the gas station and not from the can in the garage.
Good Day.

Dies out after holing throttle open after a short while

All two stroke engines are sensitive to fuel. Now that many areas have mandated the use of added ethanol, the small engines are affected more than ever. Use fresh fuel, that is mixed and stored no longer than 6 weeks. The main reason for this is because ethanol will hold water whereas gasoline will not. Because ethanol will hold water, humidity and condensation are more critical to be careful about than ever. Mix your fuel in small batches and keep your can capped tightly and out of the sun. Now about the carb. Most two cycle engines have carb's that have two jets. The jet that is closest to the cylinder is the low speed or main jet. The other jet is the high speed jet. Start the engine and allow it to run for a minute to warm up. Adjust the low speed jet rich enough by turning it counter clock wise to allow for a good transition from idle to high speed without any bog. Next, adjust the high jet for maximum rpm plus 1/4 turn counter clock wise to keep enough fuel available for air temp and load changes. Adjust the high side with the cutting head in place. Clean out the air cleaner and the muffler screen every couple of months and you should not have any more problems.

Ryobi PCN 4040 will not start up

When I was going to college I worked at a tool rental center and learned may tricks about tools. At this rental center chainsaws were seasonal thus sat in the warehouse probably as in your situation. Well one is supposed to store a chainsaw without any fuel and discard any old fuel mix because it will not keep. To easily start a saw that was in storage we would install a new spark plug, add fresh fuel mix and spray carburetor cleaner directly into the carbureter to get it started. Once started fresh fuel would be drawn into the engine from the tank and keep running. If you forgot to drain the old fuel, do it now and use the trick above. For best results, always use a fresh plug. Enjoy

Ryobi gas trimmer

I don't mean to over simplify this, but are you using fresh gas? Gas string trimmers are extremely ticky when it comes to gas. They like it SUPER fresh. And while the gas and oil mixture should be right, it can be off a little bit and still run. Try draining all of the gas out, and then filling up with fresh mix. This is ALWAYS my first step with string trimmers, and it fixes the problem 75% of the time.
Hope this helps!!
