Acer iconia tablet problem

Few things.
If you are talking about the built in speakers, make sure your volume is turned up. And make sure its turned up when the headphones are not plugged in. My android tablet has individual sound profiles so while I might have the sound muted when the headphones are not plugged in, if I plug them in, the volume jumps to my set level because that's where I turned the volume up to last time the headphones were plugged in. I've also had two tablets that the speakers went out completely on that to is a possibility but if you are talking about the built in speakers, check the volume levels first. You can get to them in the settings menu. Its worth noting that plugging anything into the headphone jack will "turn off" the internal speakers altogether.

If you are talking about external, plug into the jack speakers, on a tablet, you're going to need a set of powered speakers as that jack is not going to produce enough power to drive an un-amplified speaker. Make sure you are using a pair of speaks that plug into the wall such as PC speakers.

Second, if you are using powered speakers and still not getting any where, look at the jack end of your head phones and compare it to the jack end of your speakers. I know iPhones and other Apple devices have an extra connect which is why the Apple head phones all have an extra ring. My older headphones are worthless in my iPhone because they lack said extra connection. It's possible your tablet also requires the newer connection and the headphones have that while your speakers don't.

Broad answers, but I couldn't tell exactly what we were looking at based on the questions. Hope it helps, and good luck!

On deaf ear

sounds like headphone jack is either dirty or loose in the unit or a possible blown fuse.

if still under warrenty I would get it serviced if not then if you feel comfortable opening it up and looking around the inside of the unit around the sounds output jack then you can try that and see if you can find any blown or burnt problems around there loose connections.

There is a sound on the computer. But when I put on the headset, it does not work. The sound on the laptop still goes on.

If the sound of your laptop does not transfer to your head phones first ensure that you have plugged your headphones in the proper jack (I know this sounds silly but it happens.) You may have mistakenly plugged your headphones into the mic jack. Secondly if you are plugged into the proper jack try a different set of headphones to verify that it is not a problem with the headphones. If you get the same result with a second set of headphones then your headphone jack may be bad or came unplugged from your motherboard. In this case disassembly of the laptop may be necessary to check the headphone jack. I would wait for a few more suggestions before going that far though. Hope this was helpful.

IPhone 3GS: suddenly music only on the left

hi. i can help you. begin by cleaning out the little hole your ear buds plug into. Carefully clean the jack hole with a needle or a tough pick. It allowed me to remove a lot of cotton like dust. if that doesnt solve it go into your phone menu under audio settings and see if you have adjusted the balance to cause your problem.
also, You can try removing any debris that might be in the headphone jack by plugging and unplugging the headphones a few times.
If the issue is not caused by debris in the headphone jack, request repair/replacement of the Apple Earphones with Mic online here: https://selfsolve.apple.com/GetWarranty.do

You can also request service by making a reservation with a Genius here: http://www.apple.com/retail/geniusbar/or call AppleCare U.S. iPhone technical support at: 1-800-MY-IPHONE (1-800-694-7466)

No sound

first off, check the volume...easy enough...

if not, the ipod 5th gen's are notorious for the headphone jack pins getting bent and broken...if this is the case, you need to buy a new headphone jack and replace it (there are many websites that you can buy/offer a replacement service)

Ipod Nano 1st gen 4gb. Headphone jack signal in mono, not stereo.

most likely headphone jack is broken. option one is to take it to the apple store and have them repair it. option 2 is to go on e-bay and buy a replacement jack and try to do it yourself. best option is to sell it on ebay as broken/needs repair. Someone who knows how to fix them will buy it from you and you can use the money you get to buy a good used working iPod. There are always tons of nanos for sale on ebay.
