SOURCE: I have a Brother 8860DN.

There is a small flag on the left side of the cartridge that must be reset in order to trip a lever inside the printer to let it know that the cartridge has been replaced. You can defeat the door interlock switch and manually reset the lever inside the machine or start using a quality re manufactured toner cartridge from a reliable re filler.

SOURCE: reset the drum count on a brother intellifax 2800.

Drum counter is reset by installing a new drum which contains a specifically designed "starter sheet" that is passed through the machine when it is installed, and triggers the paper sensors in a specific pattern, resetting the electronic counter.
If you have installed a new drum and the message remains......I suspect that it was a remanufactured unit that did not include the "starter sheet" Is that the case?

My printer is suddenly printing faint, mostly on the right side of the paper.

The high voltage supply is not working right. That is what forms the toner on the paper. The fuser wire gets hot and melts the toner to the paper. You need to have the power supply looked at.

Brother mfc 7460dn can't remove toner cartridge

Sometimes the press buttons do not release properly. It could be jammed with paper. try to cycle out paper and then try to push the release again. Keep trying until you get it. If it is jammed so tight that you cannot get the catch to release, I do not know what you would do. Mine only did that one time and I was able to get more paper out.

I hope that helps.

Brother MFC 8660DN "Toner Error Reinstall Drum I got a new drum, new toner and still printer isn't working and show the error reinstall drum unit please help

Pull the drum/toner out and look into the machine, at the wall on your left. There's a little plastic lever there that pivots to detect a new toner cartridge. Sometimes the lever gets sticky; wiggle it to free it up. If you feel brave enough to remove the outside cover of the machine on that side, you can put a dab of grease on the lever's pivot.

all brother printers and mfc products. if you are using generic tonere or refills, brother products will not recognize the toner cartridge as the refillers do not know how to reset the toner cart. this is priority info. therefor u must use brother oem toner.brother service rep

After replacing the toner, an abnormal sound of wheels coming

I just had the same problem.....I changed drum and toner at the same time.....bad sounds....tried old toner with new drum and "new" toner with old drum.....seems that the gears that move the toner and the drum were not meshing correctly. I determined that it was the "new" toner. I discarded new toner and used a different one....that fixed it
