Your reciver probabily wont pass progressive through it, Hook the audio from the box to your reciever, and the video directily to your tv, thats a better way to do it anyway, your tv has alot better video prossesor than your reciver , or hook both audio and video to your tv, and run audio output from your tv to the reciver

Trying to get my ps3, Emerson hd tv and coby DVD938 home theater all to work together

The DVD938 only has analog audio input (2.1 channel), thats why you have only a white (left channel) and red (right channel) audio connection from your ps3 to the home theatre. There is an option called PROLOGIC in the setup menu that will simulate 5.1 with the 2.1, it basically takes the 2.1 channels and splits it into all the speakers.

We have everything hooked up to the system all in hd and nothing is working it wont turn anything on

If it won't turn on start with absolutely nothing attached but the power and see if that helps. If it does, crack the manual and add things one at a time.

Home theater RCA RT2620

Try opening it up and unplug everything that you can (some of them you can't) and for some reseason it resets. I did that to mine and now it works.

Rear spekers no sound

Is the source signal of a surround sound type? Also, be sure that the rear speakers are on, (if your receiver has a speaker switch on it), and they are hooked up properly.

Can't get XBOX 360 to have audio through surround sound speaker

Make sure that you have the RC Cables (red and white) plugged into the audio ports that coincides with the component video inputs. If that wont work then try plugging the audio and video cables into the inputs for the satellite, since that works. That way you can isolate the issue. If it still wont work try using the XBOX 360 HDMI cable. That has both audio and video.

Does not play multichannel audio (5.1) input through optical digital audio

Hi try this.

in the dvd player make sure you just leave it default (bitstream) but in the home theater receiver don't select 5.1 b/c that will only give you a virtual 5.1 not a true 5.1. In fact don't select any sound field at all just select dolby digital or dts depending on the source of the movie then you should be ok.

The only other problem i can see is that hdmi sends both the sound and picture to the tv. You will need to see if there's a function on the dvd player to only send the picture via hdmi and the sound via the optical out of the dvd player.

good luck
