If it is hooked up with componant, thats the red blue green cables for video, and red white for audio, then you probabily eather dont have the red pluged all the way in, or you have the red audio, and red video---reversed, make sure to check them on the dvd player, and on the tv, if there correct, try using the composit input, that is the yellow red and white

How do I hook up this flat screen tv to my dvd

TV,s and DVD,s usually provide wiring diagrams to connect them together. Basically the "output" Connections of the DVD will go to the same "Input" connections on the TV. Most are colour coded. Red to red, blue to blue, yellow to yellow. These connections are usually marked Sound Left, Sound right, and video. If the DVD and the TV both have separate sound and video connections, or an "s" video output / input , use those as you will get a better picture and sound. For the standard RCA plug connections all you will need is the standard 3 colour lead to connect them. If you have the fancy S Video connections , you will need the special cable for this. Any good TV sales or electronic sales shop will have them.

I assume your DVD is coming up in colour when you plug it into a standard scart connector? Have you tried using a different S-Video cable because this sound symptomatic of a dodgy lead?
Check the SCART end of your lead for any bent or broken pins.

Failing that if the problem lies with the TV itself I'd really recommend having a pro look at it. Plasma's are expensive and opening it up if you don't know what you are doing is a bad idea.

Have 32 inch rca, says no signal, blue screen, plays dvds great has good picture, how do i get tv picture on?

IF plays DVD's via the audio and video jacks on the set there is a option here--bypass the issue with a box (cable or sat or any kind that will pass the signal via the same connections you use for a DVD.

The blue screen suggests you have or may have a bad tuner in the set--cannot beat it get around it.

When using component cables(red, green, blue )

The series of the cable should go green red blue into the back. if you put the green in the red and the red into the green it give the TV a red base to go off of for the picture so everything is red. The reason the green cable won't is because it transmits a black and white picture which allows it a nice base to add the green and red to.

Dvd picture

Make sure component cables match colors between Television and DVD player. It should be TV input to DVD output. Try to play at least two DVDs to make sure its not a single DVD that may be having an issue. Also, adjust your television's picture setting to make sure its set to normal. Also access your DVD players menu to make sure the setting are set to normal as well.If it doesn't correct the problem, use a different component input on your television. If problem persists, you may need to contact the DVD player manufacturer to see if its still under warranty and not defective. Good Luck.

There is probably a fault in the video processor, or there is a setting for the user colour temperature that is not properly set. Call the authorized service for advice on how to proceed.
