Question about Dell Inspiron E1505 Notebook

Black dotted line on monitor

Dell inspiron E1505 laptop. skinny black dotted line on bottom of the screen. the line is growing. when i noticed it first time, the length was maybe 1 inch but over the past few days it has grown to about 4 inches. it seems to be located between the screen and the display. in other words i cant touch it , and i can see my mouse pointer underneath the black dots. it is partially covering the display of time, and other icons there. i am worried since it seems to be getting bigger... will it eventually block my whole screen?
this dotted line is very dense in dots-- almost like someone had scribbled with black ink. when i 'press' against the screen with my finger the little dots sort of move.its wierd.
any ideas???

Why is there a red straight line on my screen? What is the cause of and how can i get rid of it?

Try connecting an external monitor to the laptop. If the monitor display is fine, then your laptop's LCD display panel isdefective. If the monitor has a red line, then your problem is with either thevideo card or motherboard located inside your laptop.

Dell inspiron e1505 laptop has a thin light green line on far left of screen and a thin pink line approx an inch to the right of it. Both lines run from top to the bottom of the screen. I'm assisting in...

If you were to plug it into an external display, that will tell you whether it is a VGA uProcessor fault or a screen fault. If it is a screen fault, checkout ebay for a replacement screen.
Hope that helps.
