Question about Singer 7258 Sewing Machine

1 Answer

I have an error E4 on my Singer Sewing Machine. I have searched the manual and cannot find anything on this error. I have only used my machine a few times. It is brand new.

It beeps and the peddle will not go. I have cleaned it and oiled it, rethreaded, checked the bobbin and re threaded again.

If it's still under warrenty I suggest taking the machine back.
try changing the needle
try turning the bobbin the opposite direction
if you have a front or side loading bobbin case try reinserting
the bobbin case back in the machine
or it could be the motherboard has gone bad, or the foot pedal

Make sure the reverse button isn't stuck. That is the problem I had, sticking part way, and machine gave error message. I don't know why the manual doesn't give an idea of some of these error messages. Even the salesperson who sold it to me did not know that they mean.

SOURCE: Singer 4623 bobbin thread won't catch

Hi! Did you by chance, change your needle? If so, make sure you have the flat side of the needle shaft facing the correct direction. If the needle isn't in all the way or the flat side of the shaft facing the right way, the bobbin thread won't pick up.

Let me know if this helps, ok?

Happy Sewing!

SOURCE: Singer futura 250. while sewing the E4 code

Are you using bobbin thread? Is your thead new? Is themachine threaded correctly?

Make sure that when you thread the upper part the thread go under the circle that pull it.

Another thing is that when you hit the start button, pull the upper thread until the machine goes two or three times. It helps the bobbin thread to come up and the machine start sewing.I you leave it along the thread sometimes doesnot comes up and that is why the machine beeps.

I use this technique to make sure it doesnt beep and to cut the thread (the one at the beginning so it doesn't mess my design)

Where to apply oil to shuttle on White model 2037. I thoroughly cleaned all parts of the machine, rewound bobbins, made sure presser foot was up and rethreaded machine, still getting birdnesting under

If the birdnesting is on the bottom of fabric it is the top tension. If the birdnesting is in the bobbin area I would check the bobbin tension. When adjusting the bobbin tension make sure you are turning the screw in very tiny increments.

Check to make sure the machine is threaded properly and then check again. It is often times something simple.

I have a euro pro 9106 it was sewing fine then it started beeping

Here's a manual. The troubleshooting section will frequently provide clues to problems:

Try page 5:

Would suggest removing all the thread (upper & bobbin), cleaning the bobbin area thoroughly, then reloading the threads.

Verify it is threaded correctly.

Future quartet beeps when sewing, only allows 5 stitches then beeps what does this mean???

It could be a low bobbin sensor issue (either bobbin is too low, or sensor is out of alignment/has lint blocking it). Or it could be a check spring/upper thread sensor issue. You can check to see that when you are threading the upper thread; check that the thread is catching in the check spring(this will be a very small spring in the thread path--usually step 3--). You may have to remove the head cover to see. Try cleaning the bobbin area and rethreading the upper thread.

Safety device has been activated and dont see anything wrong

First thing, install a brand new needle.

Next, remove all the thread. RAISE the presser foot and rethread from the beginning making sure it follows the correct pathway.

Rethread the bobbin case making sure the thread is in the bobbin tension and that the bobbin turns the correct direction in the bobbin case.

Clean away any thread and lint debris around and under the feed dogs and in the bobbin area.

Oil the machine with fresh, good quality sewing machine oil as instructed in the owner's manual. Do NOT use 3-in-1, WD-40, cooking oil, or the old smelly stuff in the oil tin from Grandma's sewing basket.

Turn the machine off for a few minutes and then turn it back on.

If it still has an error code, you should probably take it for service.

How do I get my machine to start sewing and stop beeping?

try rethreading the machine--use EVERY thread guide
make sure the needle is inserted up into the needle holder and turned the right direction
make sure the bobbin is inserted correctly into the bobbin case and turned the right direction
clean under the needle plate and in the bobbin area for loose thread or lint
make sure thread has not come off the thread take up lever
also the jam could have caused the machine to jump time and needs a timing or a adjustment
