Once my jeep reaches around 200 degrees it wants to stop, it will start acting like it is only running on 4 cylinders and it won't take fuel and it shakes and backfires once in a while thur the throttlebody, and eventually it will die. There is fuel at the fuel rail, and once the entire engine cools it will start and run fine until everything reaches operating temp. then it acts up.
Need to road test with scan tool on it & look at data
Need to confirm the temp issue & what your saying
Need to see fuel pressure & if correct, what it is at 200
when the issues start.
Maybe the egr comes in later & leans it out
Maybe it won't stay in closed loop & that is temp related for sure
Think you need to go for a road test, you drive & shop guy rides
with scanner, have to be part of the solution or they will sell you
spark plugs & call it a tune-up,remember they have been gone for
25 years
Testimonial: "i would like to thank peter zapp i never thought about the fuel pressure until he said something about it thanks much."
i drove the vehicle with scanner on it and nothing odd and no codes, after about a half hour of drive time the temp went up to 191 and the fuel pressure dropped from 52 at start up to 23 lbs when the vehicle starts to act up that sounds like a fuel pump or filter to me just put that pump in 8 months ago what do you think ?
