Once my 1999 jeep grand cherokee larado with 4.0 will not take gas and dies out at operating temp

Once my jeep reaches around 200 degrees it wants to stop, it will start acting like it is only running on 4 cylinders and it won't take fuel and it shakes and backfires once in a while thur the throttlebody, and eventually it will die. There is fuel at the fuel rail, and once the entire engine cools it will start and run fine until everything reaches operating temp. then it acts up.

Need to road test with scan tool on it & look at data

Need to confirm the temp issue & what your saying

Need to see fuel pressure & if correct, what it is at 200
when the issues start.

Maybe the egr comes in later & leans it out

Maybe it won't stay in closed loop & that is temp related for sure

Think you need to go for a road test, you drive & shop guy rides
with scanner, have to be part of the solution or they will sell you
spark plugs & call it a tune-up,remember they have been gone for
25 years

Testimonial: "i would like to thank peter zapp i never thought about the fuel pressure until he said something about it thanks much."

i drove the vehicle with scanner on it and nothing odd and no codes, after about a half hour of drive time the temp went up to 191 and the fuel pressure dropped from 52 at start up to 23 lbs when the vehicle starts to act up that sounds like a fuel pump or filter to me just put that pump in 8 months ago what do you think ?

My 96 jeep grand cherokee keeps dieing when it gets hot

My first question would be, do you know if the cooling fan is coming on ? ?
The computer can shut down the engine if it reaches 250 or 260 degrees. You could also have a coil or other electrical part that is failing when hot.

My jeep 2000 module temp runs at 200 steady no leaks runs good starts good ?

That is a proper operating temp. after the thermostat opens. If it reads 200 degrees when cold you need to check your temp gauge and sensor.

Wish one are the normal temperature for a jeep cherokee 1999

"normal" varies by a few degrees dependent upon ambient temp. In general anything from 200 to 210(f) is fairly normal.

1999 Jeep Grand Cherokee Larado wont start. Cranks, but injectors do not pulse( fuel rail has pressure.)

If computer sees no crank sensor signal it shuts down pulses to the injectors. But, you bring something new into the mix. Make sure fender grounding is good so the relay can operate properly and make sure power going to it is not restricted by a loose or dirty contact on the power side.

2004 jeep grand cherokee. CO2 sensor code, car will not start.

O2 sensors play no role in the startup of a vehicle, they do not contribute until after the vehicle has warmed up and reached "closed loop" status which is usually at least 150 degrees coolant temp

1998 jeep grand cherokee cooling problem

Your thermostat is stuck closed. It needs to be changed right away. By the way the operating temp on that motor is 160 degrees so you are running hot you have just been lucky so far. Good Luck
