Type chkdsk x: /f/r from a command prompt. X being the drive letter. Press F8 during boot to get there.

I cant get passed the first screen is says loading os image. con you help?

Sounds as though your harddrive might be virused up...a corrupt registry command preventing it from booting...or your harddrive may be faulty..
Try chk disk command to scan the surface of your harddrive just incase you may have any bad segments...if its all clear, take out your harddrive and virus scan it with another computer...
All else fails...you may have to reformat and try a clean install.....

Open My Computer
Note the drive-letter assigned to the Maxtor
Close My Computer
Click Start
Click Run
Type CMD
Press Enter
If the drive-letter was 'E:', type 'E:'
Press Enter
Type ATTRIB -H -R -S *
Press Enter
Open My Computer
Double-click the icon for the Maxtor
Does it still show "zero" files/folders?
Does it show a 'FOUND' folder?
What file(s) are in that folder?

Hi Your harddrive has bad indexing unit so this problem arise. For that you need to fix error on harddrive. First open cpu cabinet reconnect RAM memory and both connection to harddrive and power cable and ide or sata cable. Then for fix error on harddrive boot computer with cd/dvd rom then enter in recovery console and type in prompt "chkdsk /r" without "" then press enter then it fix error on harddrive. Then again boot computer with windows disk then choose repair option then if still problem arise then you need to repartitioning the harddrive then format harddrive and install windows then it will work fine. Let me know if you need further assistance. Thanks for using FixYa.

Error code 36 when transferring photos to harddrive

According to Microsoft, error 36 is:

"ERROR_SHARING_BUFFER_EXCEEDED
36 (0x24) - Too many files opened for sharing."

There may be many causes for this. Do a virus scan and run the registry repair tool from this download link:

http://www.windows-error-repair.org/tools/regcuredownload.php

Run the tool, press the scan button and let the tool clean and fix your registry.

Good Luck!

Get error 633

Try to install Avira Free antivirus and Malwarebytes antimalware. Update and scan. Or you can try to install hijackthis to view running processes in your system.

Or you can try to take out the harddrive and scan it to another computer with a good known antivirus.

USB External harddrive not accessible

A couple of possibilities:

1. Not enough power to the drive.
Does the external have its own power supply?
If not it may not get enough power from the USB bus to spin the drive up properly. Put your ear up to the drive and compare how it sounds when you have it in the desktop.
I have an external drive that has an extra connector for just that occasion. If yours does not have this , you will need to get a powered USB hub to rectify the situation.

2. Corruption on the drive. While it is plugged into the desktop , right click on the drive in explorer , go to properties , then tools and error checking. Run a scan and fix any errors.
