Question about Denon AVR1912
All other Denon internet functions (Flickr, internet radio) works but Pandora does not. After months of no issue, I logged out and now it will not log in and connect. I have Pandora access through my Blue-Ray, no issues.
Check the Denon website. There is a notice for Pandora users. Pandora changed something and Denon products are blocked as of 11/30. They state that they are working on a fix and to check back after 12/6 for the update.

Enter to the AV receiver's "Menu". Go to manual setup. In the manual setup, select HDMI setup. Select HDMI audio setup. If you want to heare the audio through the AVR, seelct AMP. If you want to hear the audio through TV, select TV.
Next select HDMI video setup. make settings for i/P scaler setting.
Make the i/P scaler OFF.
Then you have to setup the HDMI assingment of your AV receiver.
Goto [Main Menu ==> Input setup ==> Assaign;
In the assign menu select HDMI-1 as DVD/HDP
( you should connect the blu-ray palyers' HDMI output to HDMI-1 of the AV receiver. And connect HDMI monitor out of the AV reciever to the TV.)

Just confirming my understanding of your connections :
1). The DVD1800BD output HDMI is connected to AVR3808's DVD-in HDMI.
2). The DVD/VHS recorder output HDMI is connected to AVR3808's DVR-in HDMI.
3). The DVD/VHS recorder input (S-video and L/R Audio) is connected to AVR3808's DVR-out(SVideo and L/R Audio).
What other inputs have been connect to your AVR3808?
Does the recorder have Component Video inputs?
Please also connect DVD1800BD's output(Component video, S-Video and L/R Audio) to AVR3808s' DVD-in similar inputs and try recording onto your recorder.
Actually, its possible that you may be having a HDMI HDCP communication issue(High-Bandwidth Digital Content Protection) with the source product (DVD1800BD). First check with the source equipment manufacturer for any updates to their products.
If HDMI video is not passing through your AVR3808, you can connect it thru the alternate connection method I have mentioned above.
If the connections/recording still does not happen with the added anolog cables, then let me know , we can trouble shoot it further.
I hope the above helps.
Please do rate this solution and thanks for using FixYa!

I tried connecting my dvr via component and optical to see if it was my hdmi or my dvr. Ended up being a bad hdmi plug in back of my amp. I was fortunate enough to have both style connections on my dvr. Hope this helps

SOURCE: I have a Denon AVR
The optical audio connection (the TOSLINK) only works when paired with the Component connectors. Now you are using the the Composite one so you must use the audio connectors associated with it, the red and white next to it; then select the VCR1 input when you want to use them.
The audio quality will suffer a little but it will most surely pass unnoticed in most of the cases.
