Amana 153G35XXXXAA condensing fan motor works but drops out when temeperature is reached and compressor continues to run for a couple minutes

Maybe designed that way. Unless it is not working properly and doing the job I would not worry about it. But you can always check with Amana

Helo. Our Distinctions system's fan runs continuously, but the air coming through the vents is room temperature. What can I do?

If you have adjusted the thermostat setting and the compressor still does not run, you may have some wiring, compressor, overload, or capacitor problem.

DOES ANY ONE REMEMBER HOW TO PROGRAM A AMANA PTH 093 B35 WINDOW UNIT TO MAKE THE FAN RUN CONTINUOUSLY? I AM IN HOTEL ROOM AND WOULD LIKE TO DROWN OUT THE CARS OUTSIDE ON THE INTERSTATE. THANKS

Press and hold up and down arrow at same time -press off twice to get into program mode (should read C1) -press heat button to scroll to C2 the use up arrow to scroll through options. You want to set it to read-out "On" then press off to set. This should be the continuous fan mode.

The fan does not work

If this is an Amana, the evaperator fan motor works through the defrost thermostat. If the thermostat is open (no continuity), the fan motor will not run. This is usually the solution for this particular brand. Replace the thermostat and once it satisfies (within 5-10 mins. of replacement), the fan should start to run.

Our thermostat is set at hold with the fan on auto. The house and cool temp is set at 75 degrees, yet the fan will stay on CONTINUOUSLY unless I manually take down the temperature OR the outside temp falls...

it is ok to run your fan continously. constant air filtering as long as it pauses before a/c cycles on. will not use any more electricity than a toaster. is there a fan programing feature on t-stat. if so you will need to turn programing to fan off

A/c doesn't cool -- froze up, then thawed, now it doesn't cool

I found an 800 # for Amana in the HD Warehouse catalogue -- 877-376-0214 -- and called to talk to a tech. He walked me through a diagnostic test, which was a matter of pushing some buttons on the very simple t'stat and fan pad (only a few buttons to choose from according to his instructions, which led to readouts where the temperature ususally is). He took note of what the readouts were and told me exactly what the problen was -- "the red wire that goes from the coil to the transistor board, because your numbers tell me that it's 188 degrees...and it's not, I hope" -- and then he took my address and mailed me one.

We'll see -- it should be here in a couple of days.

Ptac fan keeps blowing

Try setting the fan control to "AUTO" this will cause it to cut out with the compressor.
