Question about Vivitar Vivicam X028 10.1 MP 4x Digital Zoom Digital Camera Strawberry Red -
I was trying to take a picture and it wouldn't take. I checked the settings and saw that it was on night scenery, ticked it up to "automatic", hit set and the whole thing just shut down. I've tried turning it on - won't turn on and I can't figure out what I did wrong and why it won't work.

I have a ViviCam 8400 and have the same problem UNLESS I buy Duracell Power Pix or Energizer Titanium batteries. These cost more than the regular grade AA batteries, but when I used brand new regular batteries, the camera would turn on for 2 seconds then turn right off. Titanium or Power Pix batteries make the camera work fine. And, because they are made for digital media, they do allow you to use the camera for longer periods of time.

SOURCE: WONT STAY ON
Most cheap cameras have a limited software capability. This means that power to flash and memory are always active. This in turn drains standard batteries very quickly.
To increase battery time turn off the monitor and flash when not in use. In addition remove batteries when camera is turned off. This will slow down the draining.
For best results purchase rechargable AAA batteries. Best are Ni MH (Around 1000 mAH). this will allow you to take around 2-3 times more shots than standard batteries.
HOPE THIS HELPS

This issue is not with the battery. This is due to the misalignment of the camera lens. This is a delicate hardware problem. Hence,i would suggest you to take it to some professional or your authorized service center and get it repaired there only. Trying to repair it on your own might make the situation worse and would cost a lot money.
If you need more information on this. Please do write to use.
Have a nice day.
