Soft gel filled medicine balls neither float nor bounce. This makes them the perfect tool to use while working out on any type of surface where you wouldn't want the ball bouncing back (such as on a trampoline).

Can I lose more weight if I work out with a medicine ball?

First of all, you need to have a basic understanding about losing weight. If you eat more calories than you burn, your body stores the extra calories in fat. That fat then amasses, and you lose weight. So, if you burn more than you eat, your body still needs energy; which it gets by burning the fat it previously stored. Working out with a medicine ball burns extra calories and can theoretically raise your calories burned to the point where your body will start to burn fat. This will not necessarily result in weight loss; however it will add to your daily calorie burn.
