can us surf in explorer, if yes... then ur Mozilla FF connection setting need to change. under the setting option change the connection to explorer settings.
the lock symbol u c is not related to ur connection, it says that your system is secure from hacking and virus, and you r visiting a secure server...like https://
check DEVICE MANAGER if the wireless card have the right driver installed. if you found that the wireless card have yellow exclamation point on the right it means, you installed a wrong driver.
check also in BIOS if the wireless card is enable and the switch is turn on.
press Fn+F2 to enable wireless radio/anthena (funtion key with wireless icon in blue color)
some dell laptop have hard switch located right side check this and turn the switch on.
if you want to see the icon n task bar, go to control panel....network connection...right click on wireless adapter...select properties...check Show on taskbar
just connect the linksys router to wireless router and just install the setup cd given with wireless router ..after configuring your laptop just insert the cd in another laptop and copy WEP key in it and get connected through wireless network
Device communication issue! This sometimes occurs fro many reasons mainly FIREWALLS~ In order to keep this from happeninig you should probably setup a static address on your laptop or if your network has a SSID, it needs to be manually set into your adapter because it is not picking up your network. This often happens when you use your laptop in or on other networks. Easy fix, but need answers to these questions!
