We loved our new washer for 6 months, then it died. 5 tech visits later and we still can't use our washer. No luck yet trying to get replacement washer, even if we pay half. I am out of vacation time for their visits and they have replaced the front panel, computer and pump. This has pushed me past my limit on my fun meter. We still can't use our washer and now might just buy another new one-different brand. Our last Whirlpool lasted from 1978 to 2007 with no problems.

Re: Sport_Duet F-28, fails on spin
F28 is a communication error, so i would check hte wiring connections to the control boards, not ness. the control boarditself, also quite possible that a safetry ground switchno t making contact propery, ( talked with tech line on this very issue on friday(6 month old duet sport model) turned out to bew aloose connection at the motor control)
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.

Relates to an electrical/electronic problem
Try the following:
Select PAUSE/CANCEL twice to cancel the cycle. Select
DRAIN/SPIN if there is excessive water in the washer.
Re-select cycle and select HOLD TO START. If the problem
remains, call for service.
It means Suds Lock(Overdose of Detergent Detected During The Wash Cycle). If suds are detected continuously by the pressure switch during the drain or spin phases, the washer will fill 4 litres of water and during 5 minutes the unit will rest without tumbling, the water will be drained and it will try to spin or drain again.
If too much detergent was used: – Run the unit through a Rinse/Spin cycle. – Run a Normal cycle without adding any detergent. This should clear the unit of the excess detergent. 1. Check the drain hose and make sure it is not plugged or kinked. 2. Unplug washer or disconnect power. 3. Check wire harness connections to the drain pump, pressure switch and Central Control Unit(CCU). 4. Check/clean drain pump filter of foreign objects. 5. Plug in washer or reconnect power. 6. Check drain pump. 7. Check the pressure switch. 8. Verify CCU operation by running a Diagnostic Test.
Below is what the manual recommends. I have a friend who had this same problem, he had to purchase a new control board, as the connectors had become dislodged from the board. he tried to resolder them, only to have the problem re-occure again a few months later.
Google "washer duet servicemanual.pdf" for the tech manual. SP

After six failed attempts by your machine to lock the door F22 flashes. Causes & Procedure: Door lock mechanism is broken or removed from door. Door switch or door unit failure.
1 Unplug / disconnect washer. 2 Check door switch lock unit. 3 Check wire harness connections to door switch/lock unit & the Central Control Unit (CCU)
Fault 22 Push the door to make sure it is locked firmly (try some WD40 on the door mechanism on machine, not on door, to ease out any lock jam & try the door open/close with the power off the wall) I'm giving you tips to avoid the so-called techs zooming for your wallet.
Fault 28 The communication between the CCU & the MCU (motor control unit cannot be sent correctly.
1 Unplug washer / Disconnect power 2 Check wire harness connection to the MCU, the motor & CCU Check communication of the CCU board within the housing. Make sure all grounding switches are engaged. 3 Check the drive system for any worn or failed components 4 Check that the serial harness at the MCU is not mounted upside down. The wires should be to the left when facing the MCU connectors. 5 Verify CCU operation by running the Diagnostic Test or any cycle after plugging in.
Will try getting back re the door lock. Desperate i know, so am i.
how old iss your washer? do you have an owners manual. because usually there is an extended factory warrenty on the tub and basket. the only thing you would have to pay for would be the labor. Call whirlpool if you do not have a owners manual to find out. the bearing is compressed in the tub. does it sound like an airplain taking off in your house that's usually it.
set it to spin dran cycle and select no spin and push the rinse hold button 4 times it should read c00 on the dis play and go thew to c08 it will lock the door frist and then go thew all the cycles it will flash on a c# that has trouble
heres what the f 28 code state so the tech/wire diag for this unit, not a very common error, in my experience anyway
