What is the model number of your unit?
Do you mean he replaced the "flame sensor"?
Have him check to see that the wires to the door switch are attached. This will prevent the dryer from starting.

Does it not heat or does it not work at all?

  • joanne Franco Dec 03, 2012

It does not work at all. There is electricity to the timer because you can hear it but the drum doesn't turn.

OK, what is the model number? I don't see where you posted it. Look inside the door area.

Dryer will not turn on the heat/

There are usually two temp sensors mounted near the heater or in ducts. Thy look a lot like a silver button about the size of a quarter and about half of an inch thick with a tab on either side to screw the sensor down. At room temperature both should measure almost zero ohms when checked with an ohmmeter. One opens and closes to turn on the heater. The other opens if the dryer gets too hot to prevent a fire. This second sensor will not reset if it trips, so it must be replaced. These sensors sometimes fail with age. The kit of the required parts cost around $25.00 when I last replaced mine.

Dryer will not turn on. it stays on the sensor light. husband thinks it might be a sensor bulb or something i don't know.

If the sensor light is illuminated, the motor relay on the control is likely bad or the solder connection to it is burnt. Remove the control and inspect the rear of the control board for signs of damage. The new board is available at www.aplusapplianceparts.com.

97 Toyota Camry Has been having issues lately. First it started to miss fire a lot kept getting the code p1300 so i was advised to get a tune up i did that. Tune up included spark plugs changed, wires...

Has anyone checked the Crank position sensor or knock sensor? If the Crank position sensor isn't reporting the correct position of the crank when it turns the spark plugs are firing at the wrong time. This could be because of a worn timing belt or faulty timing belt tension arm. Have the sensors checked and if they are good your left with replacing your timing belt.

The moister sensor can be bad or good. If the exhaust tubes are clogged with any lint build upo the sensor is working putting the burner into check

Gas neptune dryer fires up for 45 sec. to 1 min, then goes out

Could be a couple different things,Possibly a thermostat or high limit that is kicking out too soon, also has a flame sensor next to the burner that can come and go.if you have a toggle switch or pushbutton switch you can unplug the unit take the two wires off the flame sensor (black box about the size of a cigarette pack on the left of the burner)plug them into the switch start the dryer Turn the switch on till the igniter glows bright, turn the switch off and the burner will light if it stays lit at least till it gets to temp replace the flame sensor.(It won't cycle with out flipping the switch each time)
